Retinoblastoma (RB) is a common cancer in infants and children. It is a curable disease; however, a delayed diagnosis or treatment makes the treatment difficult. Genetic mutations have a central role in the pathogenesis of RB. Genetic materials such as RNAs (coding and non-coding RNAs) are also involved in the progression of the tumor. Circular RNA (circRNA) is the most recently identified RNA and is involved in regulating gene expression mainly through "microRNA sponges". The dysregulation of circRNAs has been observed in several diseases and tumors. Also, various studies have shown that circRNAs expression is changed in RB tissues. Due to their role in the pathogenesis of the disease, circRNAs might be helpful as a diagnostic or prognostic biomarker in patients with RB. In addition, circRNAs could be a suitable therapeutic target to treat RB in a targeted therapy approach.

Background: There is a growing body of evidence showing the value of community singing-based rehabilitation on psychosocial well-being and communication for people with post-stroke communication impairment (PSCI). However, there has been little consideration of the potential value an inpatient aphasia-friendly choir may have through the perspective of the stroke multidisciplinary team (MDT).
Aims: To explore the experiences and views of the MDT on the role an established inpatient aphasia-friendly choir, at a stroke rehabilitation centre in South Wales, UK, may play in the rehabilitation of people with PSCI.
Background: Acne is an inflammatory skin disease afflicting the majority of the world's population at some point in their lifetime, and is seen to be chronic in about 50% of cases. Acne leads to significant social withdrawal, depression, and disfiguring scars in many cases. Available treatments are characterized by high rates of relapse, dangerous side effects, and social stigma, which often leads to poor patient compliance and treatment failure.

Estrogen significantly impacts women's health, and postmenopausal hypertension is a common issue characterized by blood pressure fluctuations. Current control strategies for this condition are limited in efficacy, necessitating further research into the underlying mechanisms. Although metabolomics has been applied to study various diseases, its use in understanding postmenopausal hypertension is scarce.

Next-generation cancer phenomics by deployment of multiple molecular endophenotypes coupled with high-throughput analyses of gene expression offer veritable opportunities for triangulation of discovery findings in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) research. This study reports differentially expressed genes in NSCLC using publicly available datasets (GSE18842 and GSE229253), uncovering 130 common genes that may potentially represent crucial molecular signatures of NSCLC. Additionally, network analyses by GeneMANIA and STRING revealed significant coexpression and interaction patterns among these genes, with four notable hub genes-, , and -identified as pivotal in NSCLC progression.

Tamoxifen (TAM) is employed to treat premenopausal ER-positive breast cancer patients, but TAM resistance is the main reason affecting its efficacy. Thus, addressing TAM resistance is crucial for improving therapeutic outcomes. This study explored the potential role of Tinagl1, a secreted extracellular matrix protein, whose expression is compromised in TAM-resistant MCF-7 breast cancer cells (MCF-7R).
