Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a major cause of death worldwide. This urges the search for alternatives to antibiotics, and antimicrobial polymers hold promise due to their reduced susceptibility to AMR. The topology of such macromolecules has a strong impact on their activity, with bottlebrush architectures outperforming their linear counterparts significantly.

Given that reproductive physiology is highly sensitive to thermal stress, there is increasing concern about the effects of climate change on animal fertility. Even a slight reduction in fertility can have consequences for population growth and survival, so it is critical to better understand and predict the potential effects of climate change on reproductive traits. We synthesised 1894 effect sizes across 276 studies on 241 species to examine thermal effects on fertility in aquatic animals.

June 2024

Department of Public Health, Shoushtar Faculty of Medical Sciences, Shoushtar, Iran.

Scorpion stings pose a significant public health concern in Iran, resulting in approximately 45,000-50,000 cases and 19 deaths annually. The Khuzestan and Hormozgan provinces have the highest reported incidence rates, with an estimated 36,000 cases each year. This study focused on modeling the time series data of scorpion stings, specifically in Shoushtar City, from 2017 to 2022.

Many scholars argue that there is a deepening crisis of trust in healthcare systems. What is not contested is the centrality of public trust in building reputational value in healthcare organisations. However, there is a dearth of research focused on better understanding how trust in healthcare institutions, and the healthcare workforce, can be sustainably cultivated.

Water is a greatly convenient solvent in Raman spectroscopy. However, non-additive effects sometimes make its signal difficult to subtract. To understand these effects, spectra for clusters of model ions, including transition metal complexes and water molecules, were simulated and analyzed.
