Copper ferrite is of great interest to researchers as a material with unique magnetic, optical, catalytic, and structural properties. In particular, the magnetic properties of this material are structurally sensitive and can be tuned by changing the distribution of Cu and Fe cations in octahedral and tetrahedral positions by controlling the synthesis parameters. In this study, we propose a new, simple, and convenient method for the synthesis of copper ferrite nanoparticles using a strongly basic anion-exchange resin in the OH form. The effect and possible mechanism of polysaccharide addition on the elemental composition, yield, and particle size of CuFeO are investigated and discussed. It is shown that anion-exchange resin precipitation leads to a mixture of unstable cubic (c-CuFeO) phases at standard temperature and stable tetragonal (t-CuFeO) phases. The effect of reaction conditions on the stability of c-CuFeO is studied by temperature-dependent XRD measurements and discussed in terms of cation distribution, cooperative Jahn-Teller distortion, and Cu and oxygen vacancies in the copper ferrite lattice. The observed differences in the values of the saturation magnetization and coercivity of the prepared samples are explained in terms of variations in the particle size and structural properties of copper ferrite.

The world is now facing a water scarcity crisis due to waste, pollution, and uneven distribution of freshwater resources, which are limited. Thus, the creation of innovative, economical, and effective methods for purifying water is crucial. Here, the photo-assisted degradation of methylene blue (MB) dye under visible light and UV was achieved by using RGO photocatalyst loaded with ZnCuFeO in three different loaded 10%, 20%, and 30% called MRGO 10, MRGO 20, and MRGO 30.

As emerging contaminants, antibiotic-resistant bacteria (ARBs) and antibiotic-resistant genes (ARGs) pose a serious threat to human health and ecological security. Here, a reduced graphene oxide and g-CN co-doped copper ferrite (rGO-CNCF) were synthesized. The composite material was characterized using XRD, FTIR, XPS, SEM-EDS, TEM, and DRS analysis methods, and a visible-light-assisted rGO-CNCF-activated PMS system was constructed for the removal of ARB and ARGs in water.

  • - This study focuses on creating and using magnetic copper ferrite (CuFeO) nanoparticles to effectively remove acid red 88 and crystal violet dyes from water using a combustion synthesis method involving succinic and malic acids as fuels.
  • - The synthesized nanoparticles had average sizes of 28.54 nm (malic acid) and 19.79 nm (succinic acid), and optimal dye removal occurred at pH 2 for acid red 88 and pH 10 for crystal violet, requiring a contact time of 80 minutes and 0.05 g of adsorbent in 100 mL solutions.
  • - The nanoparticles achieved high dye removal capacities, exceeding 452 mg/g for acid red 88

Industrial activities can release a variety of harmful substances, including organic and inorganic components, into the environment. Inadequate treatment and discharge of these pollutants into aquatic environments might have adverse effects. Cadmium (Cd) is a toxic element found in various environmental sources, both anthropogenic and geogenic, which can contaminate soils and groundwater crucial for providing healthy food and safe drinking water.
