This research evaluated the antifungal effectiveness of ethanol, methanol, ethyl acetate and acetone extracts against the tested pathogenic fungi (, and ). Antioxidant and cytotoxicity effectiveness of extracts against four distinct cell lines were also assessed. Methanol extract of exhibited the highest inhibition zones against as measured by the well diffusion method. A transmission electron micrograph of the treated group of cells with methanolic extract showed mild lysis and vacuolation of the cytoplasmic organelles. In vivo, after induced infection of mice by and treatment with methanolic extract cream, the skin layer emerged with the removal of spherical plastopores. The extract of recorded the highest antioxidant activity using the DPPH (2, 2- diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) scavenging method (IC 28 mg/mL). A cytotoxicity test using a MTT assay showed that the extract had strong cytotoxic activity against the HepG2 cell line (IC 20.56 ± 1.7 μg/mL) and moderate cytotoxic activity against MCF7 and the Hela cell (IC 27.99 ± 2.1 μg/mL). Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectroscopy (GC/MS) results revealed that the effective activity of extract could be linked to a synergistic impact between their prominent composition as alkaloids, phytol, fatty acids hydrocarbons, phenolics and phthalates. extract contains active metabolites that constitute a promising source of antifungal, antioxidant and anti-proliferative compounds for the pharmaceutical drug industry.

Parasitic diseases such as trypanosomiasis and leishmaniasis pose significant health challenges in Africa. The Senegalese Pharmacopoeia, known for its many medicinal plants with anti-infectious properties, can be a source of antiparasitic natural products. This study aimed to evaluate the in vitro antiparasitic activities of 33 methanolic extracts from 24 ethnopharmacologically selected plants against Trypanosoma brucei brucei and Leishmania mexicana mexicana, as well as their cytotoxic activities on WI-38 cells.

This investigation delves into the extraction of polyphenols from the flowers of Tabebuia rosea using a basic maceration approach with acetone, ethanol, and methanol as solvents. The spectroscopic analysis of the dye obtained confirms the existence of functional groups in the polyphenol extract. The study also explores optoelectronic, fluorescence, and photometric characteristics associated with polyphenols.

Mushrooms, being a source of therapeutically active compounds, are of great interest to researchers due to their historical usage in traditional therapies and the significant role that natural products have played in the development of contemporary medications. Lentinus polychrous is one underutilized mushroom species collected from the laterites of West Bengal, India. Our study aims toward its taxonomic validation, deciphering the secondary metabolic fingerprint, and testing its efficiency in countering many clinical issues, including oxidative stress, growing microbial drug resistance, and cancer.
