We report the synthesis of three neutral complexes with different coordination modes of a di-silylated metalloid germanium cluster to divalent lanthanides [(thf)Ln(η-Ge(Hyp))] (Ln = Yb (, = 1); Eu (, = 2, 3), Sm (, = 2, 3); Hyp = Si(SiMe)) by the salt metathesis of LnI with K[Ge(Hyp)] in THF. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, nuclear magnetic resonance and UV-vis-NIR spectroscopy, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. In thf solution, the formation of contact or solvate-separated ion pairs depending on the concentration is assumed. Compound exhibits a blue luminescence typical for Eu. The solid-state magnetic measurements of compounds and confirm the presence of divalent europium and samarium, respectively.

Microbial attack, particularly fungal degradation of cellulose, is a leading cause of paper damage. To address fungal spores and the rising concern of microbial drug resistance, a nano-Germanium dioxide (GeO)/cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) complex (nano-GeO/CTAB complex) with potent antibacterial properties was synthesized. Its inhibitory effects were evaluated against bacteria, including Gram-positive and Gram-negative , as well as fungi isolated from paper ( spp.

Theranostics, by integrating diagnosis and therapy on a single platform, enables real-time monitoring of tumors during treatment. To improve the accuracy of tumor diagnosis, the fluorescence and photoacoustic imaging modalities can complement each other to achieve high resolution and a deep penetration depth. Despite the superior performance, the biodegradability of theranostic agents plays a critical role in enhancing nanoparticle excretion and reducing chronic toxicity, which is essential for clinical applications.

Comparison of Different Organometallics Towards Electrophilic Aromatic At-Astatinations of Highly Reactive Tetrazines.

Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, Jagtvej 162, 2100, Copenhagen, Denmark.

Organometallics can be used as precursors for electrophilic At-statinations. In this report, we compared the potential of aryl trimethylsilanes, -germanes, or -stannanes to be used as precursors to At-label highly reactive tetrazines. Tetrazines can be used for pretargeted radioligand therapies or be applied as synthons to radiolabel rapidly and orthogonally a broad set of precursors such as peptides, mAbs or nanomedicines.

The performance of mid-infrared (MIR) on-chip gas sensors, operating via laser absorption spectroscopy, hinges critically on light-matter interaction dynamics, significantly influenced by external confinement and the effective light path length. Conventional on-chip sensors, however, face challenges in achieving the required limit of detection for highly sensitive applications, primarily due to their intrinsically short effective light path. Furthermore, these sensors are limited in their spectral range coverage within the MIR spectrum by the constraints of standard silicon-based platforms.
