Digital technology has revolutionized the acquisition of patient data and the fabrication of prosthetic replacements for extraoral defects. This clinical report illustrates the use of a new technique which allows the digital creation of an acrylic resin framework which is then veneered with silicone to create an esthetic prosthesis in less time and with less patient discomfort.

Methods: In this single centre retrospective service evaluation project, data sent to Brainomix from a medium size acute National Health Service (NHS) Trust hospital between 1/3/2022-1/3/2023 was reviewed.

Tetraspanins (Tspans) are transmembrane proteins that coordinate life cycle steps of viruses from distinct families. Here, we identify the human Tspan10 and Tspan15, both members of the TspanC8 subfamily, as replication factors for alphavirus Venezuelan equine encephalitis virus (VEEV) in astrocytoma cells. Pharmacological inhibition and siRNA-mediated silencing of TspanC8 interactor a disintegrin and metalloproteinase 10 (ADAM10) reduced VEEV infection.
