Temporally delayed, phase-locked coherent pairs of near IR femtosecond laser pulses were employed to study electronic coherences in molecular Nd -complexes at room temperature. Dissolved and solid complexes were studied under a confocal microscope set-up with fluorescence detection. The observed electronic coherence on a few hundred femtoseconds time scale is modulated by additional coherent wave packet dynamics, which we attribute mainly to be vibrational in nature. In future, the complexes may serve as prototypes for possible applications in quantum information technology.

Fermi polarons are emerging quasiparticles when a bosonic impurity immersed in a fermionic bath. Depending on the boson-fermion interaction strength, the Fermi-polaron resonances exhibit either attractive or repulsive interactions, which impose further experimental challenges on understanding the subtle light-driven dynamics. Here, we report the light-driven dynamics of attractive and repulsive Fermi polarons in monolayer WSe devices.

A bioinspired method for surface modification of nanocellulose has been proposed, drawing inspiration from the lignification process in plant cell walls. Unlike traditional methods for synthesizing dehydrogenation polymers (DHPs) of lignin, this study innovatively prepared a water-soluble DHPs precursor, coniferin, which underwent homogeneous polymerization catalyzed by peroxidase to generate DHPs that adhered to the surface of nanocellulose. Modified nanocellulose was then filtered into membranes, and the presence of DHPs increased the water contact angle, achieving high hydrophobicity with little DHPs content.

In this study we evaluated the effects of flow lamination on aerosol flow dynamics and deposition at the exit point in testing models with spatial barriers (narrowing or curving). We compared ModiFlow (MF) to an idealized Standard Spacer (SS) in their efficiency of delivery of aerosolized medication (fluticasone) across different types of spatial barriers. Fluticasone propionate HFA Inhaler from Prasco Labs 220 µg per actuation was used to deliver 1 spray in each test tube.

Background: No prior study has examined the mutual association of long-term outdoor ozone (O) concentration and physical activity (PA) with emotional and behavioral problems (EBPs) in children and adolescents. This study aims to investigate the association between long-term outdoor O concentration and the risk of EBPs in children and adolescents and further explore whether increased PA levels modify this association.
Methods: Data were obtained from the 2020 wave follow-up examination of an ongoing prospective cohort study (COHERENCE project) in Guangzhou, China.
