The first complete mitochondrial genome of the freshwater goby was determined by high-throughput sequencing. This genome was 16,627 bp in length and consisted of 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNA genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes, and 2 non-coding control regions. Phylogenetic analysis based on the amino acid sequences of 13 mitochondrial protein-coding genes from and 23 relatives suggested that had a close mitogenome relationship with . This complete genome of will provide basal molecular data for future studies on taxonomy, comparative genomics, and adaptive evolution in .

Stabilization of mitochondria-associated endoplasmic reticulum membranes regulates Aβ generation in a three-dimensional neural model of Alzheimer's disease.

Introduction: We previously demonstrated that regulating mitochondria-associated endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membranes (MAMs) affects axonal Aβ generation in a well-characterized three-dimensional (3D) neural Alzheimer's disease (AD) model. MAMs vary in thickness and length, impacting their functions. Here, we examined the effect of MAM thickness on Aβ in our 3D neural model of AD.

Unlabelled: Combination chemotherapy remains essential for clinical management of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). Consequently, responses to individual agents cannot be easily delineated at the single patient level, even though some patients might not require all drugs in the combination. Herein, we conduct multi-omic analyses of orthotopic TNBC patient-derived xenografts (PDXs) treated with single agent carboplatin, docetaxel, or the combination.

Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (Bd) is responsible for mass extinctions and extirpations of amphibians, mainly driven by the Global Panzootic Lineage (BdGPL). BdGPL isolate JEL423 is a commonly used reference strain in studies exploring the evolution, epidemiology and pathogenicity of chytrid pathogens. These studies have been hampered by the fragmented, erroneous and incomplete B.

Complete mitochondrial genome sequence of Nannostomus eques and comparative analysis with Nannostomus beckfordi.

Mol Genet Genomics

December 2024

Co-Innovation Center for Sustainable Forestry in Southern China, College of Life Sciences, Nanjing Forestry University, Nanjing, 210037, China.

The brown pencilfish, Nannostomus eques is a lebiasinid harvested for ornamental purposes; however, its complete mitochondrial genome sequence is still unknown. To enrich the molecular genetic information pertaining to Nannostomus, we present here the first report of the complete mitochondrial genome sequence of Nannostomus eques and compare it with Nannostomus beckfordi. The total lengths of the N.

The aim of this narrative review is to summarize evidence relating the importance of nutrient intake from diet and supplementation for paediatric mental health. We begin by reviewing several mechanisms by which nutrients maximize brain health, including enabling metabolic reactions to occur, supporting mitochondrial function, reducing inflammation and assisting with detoxification. Circumstances that may contribute to an individual requiring additional nutrients beyond what are available in the diet, such as consumption of nutritionally depleted food, individual differences in biological need, long-term medication use and gut-brain health needs are then reviewed.
