. Complications frequently occur after neonatal enterostomy. Enterostomy formation is a common outcome following emergency neonatal laparotomy. We introduce a new method for improving proximal enterostomy in newborns.. We added a simple drainage device on the proximal enterostomy. The simple drainage device consists of several materials: a foreskin cerclage staple (Chong Qing BORN Biological Technology Co. Ltd., Sichuan, China), a condom, and 0- Mersilk Silk braided nonabsorbable suture (ETHICON 15 × 60 cm).. A total of 20 cases participated in the study. All surgeries were performed by a single surgeon. The cases only occurred one case of prolapse of the intestinal, one case of premature surgery due to excessive orifice flow, and one case of periostomy dermatitis, Other patients not experienced intraoperative or postoperative complications.. Based on our preliminary observations, the simple drainage device is a safe and effective operation device that can reduce the risk of stoma-related complications.

Introduction: Up to one-third of pediatric patients with acute appendicitis present with radiological evidence of appendicoliths. However, whether appendicolith presence influences prognosis under conservative management compared to non-appendicolith appendicitis remains uncertain.
Methods: We systematically searched PubMed, Cochrane, Embase, and Web of Science databases for studies comparing pediatric appendicolith and non-appendicolith appendicitis managed conservatively with antibiotics, fluids, and percutaneous drainage.

Water pollution, resulting from industrial effluents, agricultural runoff, and pharmaceutical residues, poses serious threats to ecosystems and human health, highlighting the need for innovative approaches to effective remediation, particularly for non-biodegradable emerging pollutants. This research work explores the influence of shape-controlled nanocrystalline titanium dioxide (TiO NC), synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method, on the photodegradation efficiency of three different classes of emerging environmental pollutants: phenol, pesticides (methomyl), and drugs (sodium diclofenac). Experiments were conducted to assess the influence of the water matrix on treatment efficiency by using ultrapure water and stormwater (basic) collected from an urban drainage system as matrices.

Background: Multimodal protocols such as Acceleration of Total Postoperative Recovery and Enhanced Recovery After Surgery propose a set of pre- and post-operative care to accelerate the recovery of surgical patients. However, in clinical practice, simple care such as early refeeding and use of drains are often neglected by multidisciplinary teams.
Aims: Investigate whether early postoperative refeeding determines benefits in colorectal oncological surgery; whether the patients' clinical conditions preoperatively and the use of a nasogastric tube and abdominal drain delay their recovery.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the difference in the incidence of the hypertensive phase (HP) between Ahmed glaucoma valve (AGV) patients who received intracameral air injection and those who did not. A total of 78 patients who underwent AGV surgery between January 1, 2016 and June 30, 2023 were included in this retrospective study. HP was defined as intraocular pressure (IOP) greater than 21 mmHg within the first 6 postoperative months.

This study aimed to summarize the clinical characteristics of acute epiphyseal osteomyelitis and acute metaphyseal osteomyelitis of long bones in children. Data of 43 children with acute osteomyelitis of long bones diagnosed and treated from November 2017 to January 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. Medical records, laboratory results, and MRI were reviewed.
