We report a case of a 49 year old woman who developed biopsy-proven xanthomas on her hands and arms after initiation of Mycophenolate mofetil therapy for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and subsequently went into remission upon cessation of the medication.

To present a case of a young adult with bilateral chronic posterior uveitis resulting from Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada (VKH) disease treated with mycophenolate mofetil who subsequently developed vitreoretinal lymphoma in the right eye. A case and its findings were analyzed. A 34-year-old Hispanic woman presented with an 8-year history of chronic recurrent posterior uveitis in both eyes secondary to VKH disease.

Previous attempts to identify neuroprotective targets for acute ischemic stroke by studying ischemic cascades and devising ways to suppress these pathways have failed in translational research. We hypothesized that studying the molecular determinants of endogenous neuroprotection, namely, the tolerance against ischemic stroke conferred by hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) preconditioning, via a well-established paradigm would reveal new neuroprotective targets. By a combination of proteomics, KEGG pathway analysis, lysosome fraction and western blot analysis, we found that chaperone-mediated autophagy (CMA) was activated by HBO preconditioning.
