A microwave supported sol-gel approach was developed in this study to fabricate Zr-doped TiO mesoporous nanostructures for efficient photocatalytic activity on bismark brown red (BBR) dye under visible light illumination. Sophisticated analytical techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), X-ray fluorescence analysis (XRF), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflectance (UV-vis-DRS) spectroscopy and Brunauer-Emmet-Teller (BET) surface area analyses were used to obtain their structural, electrical: optical and spectroscopic characteristics. The analysis results revealed that the developed nanostructures exhibited strong broad absorption in the visible region with good adsorption capacity and thus enhanced photocatalytic performance. The average crystallite size was found to be 12.5 nm (UTO), 6.4 nm (ZT), and 4.7 nm (ZTM) respectively. The nanocatalysts (ZTM) showed a decrease in bandgap and particle size with an increase in the surface area of the Zr-TiO nanoparticles (119 m g). In comparison to previous studies on the photocatalytic degradation of BBR dye under visible light irradiation employing Ni-S co-doped (110 min), Cu-doped TiO2 (75 min), , ZTM exhibited a remarkable degradation rate of 99% in 50 minutes. This may be due to the hydroxyl radicals being the principle reactive species responsible for the BBR dye oxidative degradation. The present study showed that ZTM was found to be the best photocatalyst for the BBR dye degradation under the optimal conditions.

In this work, 11-indeno[1,2-]quinoxalin-11-one (IQ), 7-nitro-11-indeno[1,2-]quinoxalin-11-one (NIQ), and 7-chloro-11-indeno[1,2-]quinoxalin-11-one (CIQ) as indenoquinoxalines (IQPs) and 7-nitro-2'-(4-nitrophenyl)-5',6',7',7a'-tetrahydrospiro[indeno[1,2-]quinoxaline-11,3'-pyrrolizine]-1',1'(2')-dicarbonitrile (SIQPNO) spiroheterocyclics were synthesized. These molecules photocatalytically reduced methylene blue (MB), methyl orange (MO), brilliant blue R (BBR), and Rhodamine B (RhB) in aqueous acetonitrile (aq-ACN) under sunlight (SL) for the first time. The IQPs and SIQPNO with a lanthanide graphene oxide template (LGT) of lanthanide sulfide nanorods (LnS, CeS, TbS, and HoS) photocatalytically reduced the dyes.

Acetaminophen (APAP) overdose is still a leading cause of drug-induced liver injury (DILI), accompanied with severe inflammatory response. However, the therapy for APAP-induced DILI is rather limited. The combined application of natural products to treat DILI induced by APAP may be a new direction of the research.

Photothermal therapy (PTT) is a prospective therapeutic method for breast cancer. However, excess inflammatory response induced by PTT may aggravate tumor metastasis. Meanwhile, the overexpressed heat shock proteins (HSPs) by cancer cells can protect them from hyperthermia during PTT.

In this study, the β-cyclodextrin encapsulated betanin (BET@β-CD) with improved thermal stability and retention as well as the berberine (BBR) with aggregate induced luminescence effect were incorporated into corn amylose (CA) biomatrix to develop colorimetric/fluorescent dual-channel smart film. Results shown that the added functional components were uniformly distributed in the film matrix. The high tensile strength (78.

Berberine (BBR), a widely used isoquinoline alkaloid derived from natural sources, exhibits aggregation-induced emission (AIE) characteristics and has biological applications such as in selective lipid droplet imaging and photodynamic therapy. However, natural BBR suffers from low fluorescence quantum yield () and monotonous emission wavelength. In this paper, a series of C9-position-aryl-substituted berberine derivatives with a D-A structure were designed and synthesized.
