A procedure was developed for gas chromatographic analysis of glycine-type amphoteric surfactants. The commercial samples contained N-alkylaminopropylglycines, N-alkylamines and N-alkylaminopropylamines. Some di- and triacids were also detected. The method proposed allows a good separation according to both the carbon number and the chemical function.

In photovoltaics, perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have shown efficiency improvement with scalable and low-cost fabrication. This work investigates the additions of surfactants to PSCs during and after cell fabrication, and how these surfactants enhance the performance of both PSCs and hybrid PSCs. Various types of surfactants were surveyed, including amphoteric, cationic, and non-ionic, in addition to other chemicals that are showing surfactant-like behavior.

The stability of foam during injection into oil reservoirs is critical, especially under high-temperature and high-salinity conditions. This study formulates foam stabilizers using one polymer, two surfactants, and six types of nanoparticles (NPs). Foam stability was assessed with a static setup, examining factors such as interfacial tension (IFT), bubble characteristics, and solution viscosity through dimensionless numbers: Bond number (Bo), Worthington number (We), and Neumann number (Ne).

The intranasal (IN) route of drug delivery can effectively penetrate the blood-brain barrier and deliver drugs directly to the brain for the treatment of central nervous system (CNS) disorders via intra-neuronal or extra-neuronal pathways. This approach has several advantages, including avoidance of first-pass metabolism, high bioavailability, ease of administration, and improved patient compliance. In recent years, an increasing number of studies have been conducted using drugs encapsulated in solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs) and nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs), and delivering them to the brain via the IN pathway.

Polymers with high viscosity and good viscosity-temperature property have attracted attention as chemical agents for enhanced oil recovery. The role of polymers in the emulsifying stability of an amphoteric polyacrylamide (TSPAM) with good viscosity-temperature property in different flooding systems was investigated by means of a new emulsion stability model and molecular simulations. The results indicated that TSPAM exhibited superior emulsion stability compared to hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAM).

Objectives: The hair shaft is often exposed to shampoo and haircare products that have unknown or varying pH levels. These products contain a combination of surfactants and other active ingredients to treat the hair or the scalp. As amphoteric proteins, hair keratins have limited buffering capacity, so variations in pH can have multifaceted impacts on them.
