Objectives: The aims of the present longitudinal retrospective observational case series study were to investigate the survival and success rates of primary non-surgical endodontic therapy.
Materials And Methods: Patients with at least one endodontically treated tooth (ETT), with 5 years of follow-up and in compliance with the recall programme of at least 1 time per year in a private practice setting, were recruited. Kaplan-Meier survival analyses were performed considering (a) tooth extraction/survival and (b) endodontic success as the outcome variables. A regression analysis was performed to evaluate prognostic factors associated with tooth survival.
Results: Three hundred twelve patients and 598 teeth were included. The cumulative survival rates showed 97%, 81%, 76% and 68% after 10, 20, 30 and 37 years, respectively. The corresponding values for endodontic success were 93%, 85%, 81% and 81%, respectively.
Conclusions: The study demonstrated high longevity in symptomless function as well as high success rates of ETT. The most significant prognostic factors associated with tooth extraction were the presence of deep (> 6 mm) periodontal pockets, the presence of pre-operative apical radiolucency and the lack of occlusal protection (no use of a night guard).
Clinical Relevance: The favourable long-term (> 30 years) prognosis of ETT must encourage clinicians to rely on primary root canal treatment when taking the decision regarding whether a tooth with pulpal and/or periapical diseases should be saved or be extracted and replaced with an implant.

The use of dental implants to replace lost or damaged teeth has become increasingly widespread due to their reported high survival and success rates. In reality, the long-term survival of dental implants remains a health concern, based on their short-term predicted survival of ~15 years, significant potential for jawbone resorption, and risk of peri-implantitis. The ability to create functional bioengineered teeth, composed of living tissues with properties similar to those of natural teeth, would be a significant improvement over currently used synthetic titanium implants.

This study aimed to explore the construction of experimental animal models replicating cartilage defects across diverse load-bearing sites, compare self-repair conditions, and examine the role of mechanical stimulation in cartilage self-repair. Experimental animal models were established in rabbits to simulate full-thickness cartilage defects without penetrating the subchondral bone, at various load-bearing sites, including the posterior femoral condyle, anterior femoral condyle and femoral trochlear of knee joint, and the humerus of the shoulder joint. The successful exposure and construction of cartilage defects at the anterior femoral condyle, femoral trochlear, and posterior femoral condyle through the medial extension of surgical incision.

Objective: In recent years, the application of robotic assistance in diagnostic and therapeutic endovascular neurointerventional procedures has gained notable attention. In this systematic review and meta-analysis, we aim to evaluate the feasibility, safety, and current indications of robotic-assisted neurointerventions and to assess the degree of robotic assistance and reasons for unplanned manual conversion from robotic assistance.
Methods: We searched Medline, Scopus, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library databases following PRISMA guidelines and included studies with ≥ 4 patients reporting on robotic-assisted neurointerventions.

Background Aims: With novel therapies improving prognosis, the complications of multiple myeloma after multi-line treatment, particularly myelosuppression, have become a crucial determinant of long-term outcomes. Non-myeloablative allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is a feasible option, but the transplant-related mortality rate remains high. Our study presents a relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma patient with a 9-year disease history.

An eight-year-old spayed female Abyssinian cat presented with lameness. Palpation revealed swelling, heat, and a reduced range of motion in the stifle and tarsal joints in both hind limbs. A radiographic examination of both hind limbs revealed periosteal proliferation from the distal tibia to the tarsal and metatarsal bones, which suggested hypertrophic osteopathy.
