We present the case of a 21-year-old male with a 3-year history of an isolated 1 × 1 cm purulent lesion on the left cheek, on a background of mild acne. Despite topical treatments, the lump persisted, discharging frank pus regularly. Microbiology swabs and an incisional biopsy were unremarkable.

Background/objectives: Agricultural systems face increasing global pressure to address sustainability challenges, particularly regarding land use and environmental protection. In Romania, where traditional diets are heavily dependent on animal-based products, optimizing land use is critical. This study investigates the potential of plant-based diets to reduce agricultural land use, examining scenarios of partial and complete replacement of animal protein with plant protein sources (soy, peas, and potatoes).

This report presents the case of a 66-year-old man with acute torrential aortic insufficiency after a Ross procedure 20 years earlier, a biologic aortic valve replacement 16 years earlier, and a transcatheter valve-in-valve 4 years earlier. He underwent third-time sternotomy, revealing that the pulmonary autograft was heavily calcified and frozen to the homograft. The previous transcatheter valve-in-valve was explanted.

Introduction And Importance: Multifocal fractures in a single upper extremity represent a significant clinical challenge, often resulting from high-energy impacts such as motor vehicle accidents or severe falls. These injuries require complex, multifaceted approaches in management, spanning initial acute care to long-term rehabilitation. This paper examines the complexities of diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating multifocal upper extremity fractures, highlighting the importance of timely intervention and a multidisciplinary approach to maximize functional recovery, minimize long-term disability and the prognosis.
