The novel chlorine-containing acidic polycyclic ether antibiotic CP-54,883 (C41H62O12Cl2) [corrected] is produced by the fermentation of Actinomadura routienii Huang sp. nov. This report presents the taxonomy and the fermentation conditions for the antibiotic-producing culture. The antibiotic is mainly active against Gram-positive bacteria. It protects chickens against Eimeria challenge in vivo and enhances rumen propionic acid in vitro. The physico-chemical properties are also characterized.

Introduction: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) acts as the primary contributor to non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, fibrosis, cirrhosis, and potentially hepatocellular carcinoma. The flowers of Chrysanthemum indicum, a traditional edible medicinal herb, have been widely used in China for more than 2000 years. However, the function of C.

Sodium dichloroisocyanurate (SDIC) is an efficient, safe and convenient halogen disinfectant that is widely used for hospital, tableware and swimming pool disinfection. In order to ensure its effective use and safety, especially in clinical settings, effective identification methods are necessary. The effective chlorine content is one of the quality standards for chlorine-containing disinfectants, but its complex experimental operation as well as poor specificity and portability limit its application.

However, currently reported materials with photocatalytic chlorine production performance require precious metal Pt for catalysis, which undoubtedly greatly increases production costs. Therefore, developing new types of non-precious metal-based photocatalytic materials for efficient hypochlorous acid synthesis has significant implications.

Substantial natural chlorination processes are a growing concern in diverse terrestrial ecosystems, occurring through abiotic redox reactions or biological enzymatic reactions. Among these, exoenzymatically mediated chlorination is suggested to be an important pathway for producing organochlorines and converting chloride ions (Cl) to reactive chlorine species (RCS) in the presence of reactive oxygen species like hydrogen peroxide (HO). However, the role of natural enzymatic chlorination in antibacterial activity occurring in soil microenvironments remains unexplored.

The catalytic removal of chlorinated VOCs (CVOCs) in gas-solid reactions usually suffers from chlorine-containing byproduct formation and catalyst deactivation. AOP wet scrubber has recently attracted ever-increasing interest in VOC treatment due to its advantages of high efficiency and no gaseous byproduct emission. Herein, the low-valence Co nanoparticles (NPs) confined in a N-doped carbon nanotube (Co@NCNT) were studied to activate peroxymonosulfate (PMS) for efficient CVOC removal in a wet scrubber.
