Background: Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) presents with progressive ascending weakness, but it can also present with dysautonomia such as tachycardia, blood pressure fluctuations, diaphoresis, ileus, and urinary retention. GBS patients with dysautonomia was observed to have longer hospital stays and higher mortality rates than those without dysautonomia. We aimed to determine the risk factors for dysautonomia and its manifestations among patients with GBS and compared their features to those without dysautonomia.

Background: Inflammation and maladaptive immune mechanisms have been substantiated as integral components in the critical pathological processes of the injury cascade in ischemic stroke (IS). This study aimed to explore the associations between six systemic inflammatory indices and IS in a Chinese population.
Methods: This was a case-control study based on the retrospective review of electronic medical records from two hospitals in Shandong Province, China.

Purpose: Interleukin (IL)-17 expression in the periodontal ligament is associated with orthodontically induced inflammatory root resorption (OIIRR). Seeking a convenient, rapid, and non-invasive IL-17 detection approach could help predict OIIRR. In this study, we assessed the potential of the IL-17 level in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) to be an indicator of OIIRR.

The ribotoxic stress response is a pathway that gets activated when ribosomes get impaired, leading to disruptions in protein synthesis, increased inflammatory signaling, and cell death if left unresolved. Taraxacum can induce apoptosis-associated ribosomal RNA (rRNA) cleavage, however, the exact working mechanism of Taraxacum-induced rRNA cleavage remains unclear. In this study, we used the RNA integrity (RIN) value and 28S/18S ratio to confirm the integrity of experiments.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Xiao'er Feike Granules (XFG) is an approved and widely used classical Chinese medicine prescription for the treatment of pediatric respiratory diseases. Extensive clinical studies have reported that XFG demonstrates high efficacy and minimal adverse reactions in treating acute bronchitis (AB). However, there is an urgent need for a more cohesive evaluation of the evidence regarding the safe clinical use of XFG for AB.
