We report a trinuclear iron(III) cyanido-bridged complex trans-[CpMe Fe (dppe)(CN)] [Fe (L )][PF ] (2[PF ] ) as the oxidation product of binuclear complex [CpMe (dppe)Fe CN-Fe (L )][PF ] (1[PF ]) (CpMe =1, 2, 4-trimethyl-1,3-cyclo-pentadienyl, dppe=1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane, L =pentane-2,4-dione-bis(S-methylisothiosemicarbazonato). Complex 1[PF ] possesses an intermediate-spin five-coordinated Fe (S=3/2) which couples antiferromagnetically to the π-radical ligand (L⋅ ) and shows a LMCT (ligand to metal charge transfer) transition from (L⋅ ) to Fe and the Fe →Fe MMCT transition. Upon oxidation of 1[PF ], (L⋅ ) loses one electron to be the strong electron-attracting ligand (L ) and the intermediate-spin five-coordinated Fe (S=3/2) becomes a low-spin six-coordinated Fe (S=1/2) in 2[PF ] . Also interestingly, 2[PF ] presents the coexistence of three different spin states (one S=3/2 and two S=1/2) and an uncommon Fe →(L ) MLCT transition confirmed by the experimental results and supported by the TDDFT calculations.

Background: Directed by the enzyme pair PINK1 and PRKN, mitophagy is a crucial mitochondrial quality control mechanism that selectively decorates damaged mitochondria with phosphorylated ubiquitin (pS65-Ub), facilitating their lysosomal degradation. The dynamic pS65-Ub signal accumulates upon enhanced activation from increased mitochondrial damage or upon reduced autophagic-lysosomal flux. Previous studies including ours demonstrated altered mitophagy and elevated pS65-Ub levels in Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease brains that also independently associated with α-synuclein, tau, or amyloid pathology.

An asymptomatic 79-year old woman presented with a 40 mm pancreatic cystic lesion, located in the pancreatic body-tail and consistent with branch-duct intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (BD-IPMN) without "high risk stigmata". During a 4-year follow-up period, imaging showed no mural nodules or main pancreatic duct dilation, and serum CEA and CA19.9 were within normal range.

Background: The co-existence of severe aortic stenosis (AS) and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is not uncommon. Surgical intervention is the gold standard management. Patients with high surgical risk might undergo transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).

There is currently no scale to measure the self-care knowledge of patients with hypertensive nephropathy. This study aimed to develop the Hypertensive Nephropathy Self-Care Knowledge (HN-SCK) scale for these patients and to test its reliability and validity. A methodological study was conducted in two stages.
