Background: Although invasiveness is one of the major determinants of the poor glioblastoma (GBM) outcome, the mechanisms of GBM invasion are only partially understood. Among the intrinsic and environmental processes promoting cell-to-cell interaction processes, eventually driving GBM invasion, we focused on the pro-invasive role played by Extracellular Vesicles (EVs), a heterogeneous group of cell-released membranous structures containing various bioactive cargoes, which can be transferred from donor to recipient cells.
Methods: EVs isolated from patient-derived GBM cell lines and surgical aspirates were assessed for their pro-migratory competence by spheroid migration assays, calcium imaging, and PYK-2/FAK phosphorylation.

A woman in her early 60s presented with multiple transient neurological symptoms over the course of 20 months, including transient loss of power to her right lower limb. Initial workup with CT brain scan, carotid dopplers and ECG revealed no abnormality; however, MRI of the brain suggested recent ischaemic events in separate cortical territories. Subsequent transoesophageal echocardiogram revealed a large mobile mass histologically confirmed to be an atrial myxoma.

Objective: To conduct a systematic review on radiofrequency thermocoagulation (RF-TC) in pediatric epilepsy surgery. In addition, due to the low number of dedicated pediatric series, to conduct a pooled analysis of cases published in the literature.
Methods: We conducted a literature search using PUBMED and EMBASE which produced 432 results.

Several neurological conditions, including transient global amnesia (TGA), may present an isolated sudden-onset temporary amnestic symptom. TGA is a benign, self-remitting neurological condition associated with hippocampal dysfunction. Meanwhile, certain other neurological conditions, such as cerebral ischemic stroke and hippocampal epilepsy, require appropriate therapeutic interventions.

Introduction: HIV-1 exploits dendritic cells (DCs) to spread throughout the body via specific recognition of gangliosides present on the viral envelope by the CD169/Siglec-1 membrane receptor. This interaction triggers the internalization of HIV-1 within a structure known as the sac-like compartment. While the mechanism underlying sac-like compartment formation remains elusive, prior research indicates that the process is clathrin-independent and cell membrane cholesterol-dependent and involves transient disruption of cortical actin.
