Background: Newborn screening (NBS) programs have significantly improved the health and outcomes of patients with inherited metabolic disorders (IMDs). Methods based on liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) analysis are viewed worldwide as the gold standard procedure for the expanded NBS programs for these disorders. Advanced molecular technologies point to genomic sequencing as an alternative and feasible strategy for the screening of genetic diseases, including IMDs.

ACformer: A unified transformer for arbitrary-frame image exposure correction.

Neural Netw

January 2025

School of Statistics and Data Science, Nankai University, Tianjin, 300071, China. Electronic address:

Both the single-image exposure correction (SEC) methods and multi-image exposure fusion (MEF) methods aim to obtain a well-exposed image, but from different number of input image(s). Despite their promising performance on the specific SEC or MEF task, few of these methods explores the inherent correlation behind the same goal of the SEC or MEF tasks. In this paper, we propose to unify the SEC and MEF tasks into a unified task of "Arbitrary-Frame Exposure Correction" (AF-EC) with arbitrary number of input frames.

Data-independent acquisition (DIA) on ion mobility mass spectrometers enables deep proteome coverage and high data completeness in large-scale proteomics studies. For advanced acquisition schemes such as parallel accumulation serial fragmentation-based DIA (diaPASEF) stability of ion mobility (1/K) over time is crucial for consistent data quality. We found that minor changes in environmental air pressure systematically affect the vacuum pressure in the TIMS analyzer, causing ion mobility shifts.

Contact Dynamic Behaviors of Magnetic Hydrogel Soft Robots.

Gels

December 2024

Department of Mechanics and Engineering Science, School of Physics, Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Nanjing 210094, China.

Magnetic hydrogel soft robots have shown great potential in various fields. However, their contact dynamic behaviors are complex, considering stick-slip motion at the contact interface, and lack accurate computational models to analyze them. This paper improves the numerical computational method for hydrogel materials with magneto-mechanical coupling effect, analyses the inchworm-like contact motion of the biomimetic bipedal magnetic hydrogel soft robot, and designs and optimizes the robot's structure.

Internationally, reference dosimetry for clinical proton beams largely follows the guidelines published by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA TRS-398 Rev. 1, 2024). This approach yields a relative standard uncertainty of 1.
