Background: is a major silvicultural species in Southwest China. Currently, large areas of twisted-trunk stands severely restrict its productivity. Different categories of rhizosphere microbes evolve alongside plants and environments and play an important role in the growth and ecological fitness of their host plant. However, the diversity and structure of the rhizosphere microbial communities between P. yunnanensis with two different trunk types-straight and twisted-remain unclear.
Methods: We collected the rhizosphere soil of 5 trees with the straight and 5 trees with the twisted trunk type in each of three sites in Yunnan province. We assessed and compared the diversity and structure of the rhizosphere microbial communities between with two different trunk types by Illumina sequencing of 16S rRNA genes and internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions.
Results: The available phosphorus in soil differed significantly between with straight and twisted trunks. Available potassium had a significant effect on fungi. dominated the rhizosphere soils of the straight trunk type, while was predominant in the rhizosphere soils of the twisted trunk type. Trunk types significantly explained 6.79% of the variance in bacterial communities.
Conclusion: This study revealed the composition and diversity of bacterial and fungal groups in the rhizosphere soil of with straight and twisted trunk types, providing proper microbial information for different plant phenotypes.

Repetitive manual labor tasks involving twisting, bending, and lifting commonly lead to lower back and knee injuries in the workplace. To identify tasks with high injury risk, we recruited N = 9 participants to perform industry-relevant, 2-handed lifts with a 11-kg weight. These included symmetrical/asymmetrical, ascending/descending lifts that varied in start-to-end heights (knee-to-waist and waist-to-shoulder).

Photophysical properties of condensed systems generally originate from collective contributions of all components in their stochastically fluctuated structures and are strongly influenced under strain of chromophores. To precisely identify how the stochastically fluctuated monomers synergistically manipulate the properties, we propose a statistic strategy over sufficient ab initio molecular dynamics (AIMD) samplings and for the first time uncover that synergistic oscillatory twisting (SOT) of neighboring under-strain monomers manipulates the bifunction of rubrene crystal. The under-strain trunk SOT can regulate both singlet fission (SF) and triplet-triplet annihilation (TTA), enabling their coexistence and dominance switching by dynamically modulating the matching of excitation energies.

Occupational applicationsAcross a series of standing single-handed exertions performed at different lateral angles, distances, heights, and loads, lumbar axial twist exceeded an angular threshold of 9° in select exertions. Specifically, 9° of rightward axial twist was exceeded for all exertions performed laterally (90° from the body midline). Additionally, for those at the body midline, 9° of leftward axial twist was exceeded for upward exertions and exertions performed at far distances (tertiary reach envelope).
