A Pd(II)-catalyzed straightforward oxidative naphthylation of unmasked 2-pyridone derivatives is described using a twofold internal alkyne as a coupling partner. The reaction proceeds through N-H/C-H activation to provide polyarylated -naphthyl 2-pyridones. An unusual oxidative annulation at the arene C-H bond of the diarylalkyne leads to the formation of polyarylated -naphthyl 2-pyridones, where the 2-pyridone-attached phenyl ring of the naphthyl ring is polyaryl-substituted. Mechanistic studies and DFT calculations suggest a plausible mechanism based on N-H/C-H activation. The -naphthyl 2-pyridone derivatives were studied to explore encouraging photophysical properties.

Polyaniline (PANI) is an attractive electrochromic and storage material due to its reversible and sustainable electrochemical redox processes. However, the insufficient surface area and excessive charge intercalation after long-term cycling results in limited charge capacitance and unsatisfactory cycling stability. In this work, we demonstrate an innovative method to increase PANI's electrochromic and energy storage performance by incorporating MXene, to enhance electrochemical activity and reveal more active areas of ion/electron intercalation/deintercalation and charge transfer.

One of the most important areas of nanotechnology is the use of nanoparticles (NPs) for a variety of environmental and biological applications, with silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) gaining a lot attention due to their distinct properties. The current study deals with the synthesis of Ag-NPs from Dicliptera bupleuroides Nees leaf extract and to determine their antioxidant, antimicrobial potential and effects on wheat seed germination and growth. UV-Visible spectrum revealed a prominent absorption peak at 442 nm, elucidating the conformation of the Ag-NPs synthesis.

To overcome the genuine bioinert properties of zirconia ceramic, functionalization of the surface with the bioactive protein fibronectin was conducted. Glow discharge plasma (GDP)-Argon was first used to clean the zirconia surface. Then allylamine was treated at three different powers of 50 W, 75 W, and 85 W and immersed into 2 different fibronectin concentrations (5 µg/ml and 10 µg/ml).

Background: The antioxidant properties of active peptides from silkworm pupae protein hydrolysate are of interest, and it serves as a novel source of calcium supplement.
Methods: Optimize the preparation parameters of silkworm pupae bioactive peptide-calcium chelate, and investigate the mechanism and bioavailability of silkworm pupae active peptide as a transport carrier to promote calcium ion absorption using simulated gastrointestinal digestion and Caco-2 monolayer cell model.
Results: The optimal process parameters for preparing peptide calcium chelate were the peptide calcium mass ratio of 3:1, pH of 6.
