Osteitis condensans ilii (OCI) is a noninflammatory condition of no clear etiology, cause of axial low back pain. It is characterized by sclerotic bone lesions at the iliac region of the sacroiliac joints. The diagnosis is based on radiological findings and the exclusion of other conditions associated with back pain. We present a case of bilateral OCI in a young woman with bone sclerosis at sacroiliac joints diagnosed with the use of Dual Energy CT.

The paper reports one case of osteitis condensans ilii treated with acupuncture in the young and middle-aged female patient. Based on the "analogy" thinking, bilateral Chengshan (BL57) and Ximen (PC4) were selected. Objective: To describe and evaluate the current knowledge of MRI characteristics of osteitis condensans ilii (OCI) in the diagnostics and differentiation of OCI from other conditions.
Materials And Methods: The databases PubMed, EMBASE, Scopus, and Web of Science were searched from their inception to March 2024 using the search terms "Magnetic Resonance Imaging" (MESH term in PubMed) and "osteitis condensans ilii" and limited to English language. Two reviewers independently screened titles, abstracts, and full-text eligibility and assessed the risk of bias according to Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies, QUADAS-2.
