An efficient, commercially available, and reusable copper-oxide nanoparticle (CuO-NPs) and ()-(-)-DTBM SEGPHOS catalyzed chemo- and enantioselective reduction of α-keto amides to α-hydroxy amides has been developed. The scope of the reaction has been studied with various α-keto amides containing electron-donating and electron-withdrawing groups affording the enantiomerically enriched α-hydroxy amides in good yields with excellent enantioselectivity. The CuO-NPs catalyst has been recovered and reused up to four catalytic cycles without any significant change in particle size, reactivity, and enantioselectivity.

Purpose: To investigate the effect of Rho-associated protein kinase (ROCK) inhibitor Y27632 on bioenergetic capacity and resilience of corneal endothelial cells (CECs) under metabolic stress.
Methods: Bovine CECs (BCECs) were treated with Y27632 and subjected to bioenergetic profiling using the Seahorse XFp Analyzer. The effects on adenosine triphosphate (ATP) production through oxidative phosphorylation and glycolysis were measured.
Introduction: The developed domestic retrodipeptide analogue of cholecystokinin tetrapeptide (CCK) (N-(6-phenylhexanoyl)-glycyltryptophan amide, or compound GB-115) with antagonistic properties in relation to CCK1 receptors has anxiolytic activity previously shown in preclinical and clinical studies. The aim of the study was to evaluate the anxiolytic effect of GB-115 as a tablet form with subchronic oral administration in comparison with phenazepam in nonhuman primates.
Materials And Methods: The study was conducted on four male rhesus monkeys (Macaca mulatta) aged 5.

Background: Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is associated with moderate to severe postoperative pain. Pain control is crucial for rapid mobilisation and reduces side effects as well as the length of hospital stay. In this context, a variety of multimodal pain control regimes show good pain relief, including several nerve blocks, iPACK and local infiltration analgesia (LIA).

A novel isopthalamide based receptor HL2 featuring two p-benzoic acid units has been synthesised and its anion binding properties analysed by H-NMR spectroscopy in DMSO-d/0.5 % HO. As expected, in the presence of tetrabutylammonium (TBA) fluoride the deprotonation of the carboxylic acid moieties was observed.

An asymmetric photoredox catalytic Minisci-type reaction between α-bromide amides and imine-containing azaarenes has been successfully developed. This catalyst system employs a chiral phosphoric acid alongside 3DPAFIPN as a photosensitizer. The reaction produces a diverse array of valuable amides, featuring azaarene-substituted tertiary carbon stereocenters at the β-position, in high yields (up to 85%) and good to excellent enantioselectivities (up to >99% enantiomeric excess (ee)).
