Background: The sixth Strategic Planning Session of the Society for Birth Defects Research and Prevention (BDRP) was held on April 24-25, 2022, in Alexandria, VA.
Methods: This effort built upon previous strategic planning sessions, conducted every 5 years.
Results: The overall process was designed to identify BDRP's vision, purpose, culture, and potential, as well as to communicate the value that BDRP brings to its members, volunteers, partners, and the greater community.
Conclusions: The BDRP 2022-2027 Strategic Plan provides the BDRP leadership, members, and staff with a clearly articulated framework and direction to support long-term sustainability and growth of the society.

Objective: To assess the performance of the Fetal Medicine Foundation (FMF) first-trimester competing-risks screening model for small-for-gestational-age (SGA) fetuses requiring delivery at < 37 weeks' gestation, in a large cohort of women receiving maternity care in Australia.
Methods: This was a retrospective analysis of prospectively collected data from a cohort of women attending one of two private multicenter fetal medicine practices for first-trimester screening for preterm pre-eclampsia (PE), defined as PE requiring delivery before 37 weeks' gestation. Risk for preterm SGA, defined as SGA requiring delivery before 37 weeks, was calculated but was not disclosed to the patient or referring physician.

In the management of pregnancy, ritodrine has been used to prevent preterm birth, and magnesium sulfate (MgSO) has been used to prevent preterm labor and preeclampsia. Neonates born to mothers receiving these medications occasionally show an increase in serum potassium concentration. Recently, an elevated risk of neonatal hyperkalemia has been reported, particularly when ritodrine and MgSO are co-administered; however, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.

Objectives: This study aimed to estimate the prevalence of homelessness shortly before or during pregnancy and describe differences in maternal characteristics and adverse birth outcomes between people reporting homelessness and not reporting homelessness.
Methods: We used 2016-2020 Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS) data from 31 sites to estimate the prevalence of self-reported homelessness during the 12 months before giving birth. We used logistic regression models to evaluate the association between homelessness and adverse birth outcomes, specifically small for gestational age (SGA), low birth weight (LBW), and preterm birth (PTB).
