Background And Aim: is an intestinal protozoan in humans and animals. The parasite causes mild-to-severe intestinal complications, such as diarrhea, in healthy humans and immunocompromised hosts. This study aimed to determine the antiprotozoal activity of (L.) Mansf and (Fr.) Kart extracts against .

Materials And Methods: Antiprotozoal activity of and extracts against subtype 3 was determined using the erythrosin B exclusion assay, confirmed by a time-kill study. The morphology of the parasite treated with the extracts was observed by a scanning electron microscope. The phytochemicals present in and extracts were identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis.

Results: Both and extracts demonstrated strong antiprotozoal activity with similar minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values of 62.5 μg/mL. At 4× MIC and 8× MIC, both and extracts, and metronidazole inhibited the growth of by up to 90% after 12 h treatment. cells treated with extract, extract, and metronidazole were deformed and withered when compared with the control. Geraniol and versalide were found as the main compounds in and extracts, respectively.

Conclusion: These results indicate the potential medicinal benefits of and extracts in the growth inhibition of .

Background: Endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS) and the unfolded protein response (UPR) are adaptive mechanisms for conditions of high protein demand, marked by an accumulation of misfolded proteins in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). Rheumatic autoimmune diseases (RAD) are known to be associated with chronic inflammation and an ERS state. However, the activation of UPR signaling pathways is not completely understood in Sjögren's disease (SD).

Osteoporosis, recognised as a metabolic disorder, has emerged as a significant burden on global health. Although available treatments have made considerable advancements, they remain inadequately addressed. In recent years, the role of epigenetic mechanisms in skeletal disorders has garnered substantial attention, particularly concerning mA RNA modification.

Babesia bigemina is an apicomplexan parasite responsible for causing "Texas fever" in bovines. Current treatments for bovine babesiosis are hindered by several limitations, including toxicity, insufficient efficacy in eliminating the parasite, and the potential for resistance development. A promising approach to overcome these challenges is the identification of compounds that specifically target essential metabolic pathways unique to the parasite.

Leishmaniasis, caused by protozoa and transmitted by vectors, presents varied clinical manifestations based on parasite species and host immunity. The lack of effective vaccines or treatments has prompted research into new therapies, including thiourea derivatives, which have demonstrated antiprotozoal activities. We synthesized two series of ,'-disubstituted thiourea derivatives through the reaction of isothiocyanates with amines.
