Environmental, social and governance (ESG) increasingly impacts firms' risk management and investment decisions. Based on instrumental stakeholder theory, this study uses data from Chinese-listed manufacturing firms from 2013 to 2021 to examine the relationship between ESG disclosure transparency and idiosyncratic risk (IR). Artificial intelligence (AI) intellectual property protection and institutional investor distraction are incorporated as moderating variables in examining this relationship.

Strong anharmonic coupling between vibrational states in polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) produces highly mixed vibrational transitions that challenge the current understanding of the nature of the astronomical mid-infrared PAH emission bands. Traditionally, PAH emission bands have been characterized as either aromatic or aliphatic, and this assignment is used to determine the fraction of aliphatic carbon in astronomical sources. In reality, each of the transitions previously utilized for such an attribution is highly mixed with contributions from both aliphatic and aromatic CH motions as well as non-CH motions such as CC stretches.

Mass spectrometry-based methods can provide a global expression profile and structural readout of proteins in complex systems. Preserving the in vivo conformation of proteins in their innate state is challenging during proteomic experiments. Here, we introduce a whole animal in vivo protein footprinting method using perfusion of reagents to add dimethyl labels to exposed lysine residues on intact proteins which provides information about protein conformation.

Multi-omics analysis offers a promising avenue to a better understanding of complex biological phenomena. In particular, untangling the pathophysiology of multifactorial health conditions such as the inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) could benefit from simultaneous consideration of several omics levels. However, taking full advantage of multi-omics data requires the adoption of suitable new tools.

Motivational and emotional influences on memory have been studied extensively; however, despite the link between these constructs, they have been studied in separate lines of research, with very little work examining their effects concurrently. The current study takes a novel approach to manipulate motivational and emotional influences orthogonally, and within the same task, to test their interplay on intentional memory formation. If emotion and reward motivation are tightly linked, they may rely on overlapping cognitive mechanisms, thus we would not expect emotion and reward to interact in memory.
