The implementation of electronic compensation for eddy currents to reduce the gradient settling times on a superconducting magnet is described. Field plots inside the magnet indicate the importance of assessing the field changes at several positions in the magnet. The effect of an asymmetry between the gradient coil system and the cryostat is demonstrated. A modified compensation circuit is described to overcome this mechanical asymmetry.

This paper proposes an advanced Load Frequency Control (LFC) strategy for two-area hydro-wind power systems, using a hybrid Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) neural network combined with a Genetic Algorithm-optimized PID (GA-PID) controller. Traditional PID controllers, while extensively used, often face limitations in handling the nonlinearities and uncertainties inherent in interconnected power systems, leading to slower settling time and higher overshoot during load disturbances. The LSTM + GA-PID controller mitigates these issues by utilizing LSTM's capacity to learn from historical data by using gradient descent to forecast the future disturbances, while the GA optimizes the PID parameters in real time, ensuring dynamic adaptability and improved control precision.

Enhancing the performance of 5ph-IPMSM control plays a crucial role in advancing various innovative applications such as electric vehicles. This paper proposes a new reinforcement learning (RL) control algorithm based twin-delayed deep deterministic policy gradient (TD3) algorithm to tune two cascaded PI controllers in a five-phase interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (5ph-IPMSM) drive system based model predictive control (MPC). The main purpose of the control methodology is to optimize the 5ph-IPMSM speed response either in constant torque region or constant power region.

Despite flow-electrode capacitive deionization (FCDI) is an emerging technology for desalination, contaminant removal, and resource recovery, the application of conventional FCDI in wastewater treatment is hindered by the electrode selectivity and material costs. In this study, we synthesized a low-cost ammonium (NH) adsorption electrode material by modifying zeolite using ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid disodium salt (EDTA-2Na). The flow electrode prepared by the mixture of EDTA-zeolite and carbon black exhibits a high selectivity and adsorption capacity for the recovery of NH from wastewater.

This article presents a novel proximal gradient neurodynamic network (PGNN) for solving composite optimization problems (COPs). The proposed PGNN with time-varying coefficients can be flexibly chosen to accelerate the network convergence. Based on PGNN and sliding mode control technique, the proposed time-varying fixed-time proximal gradient neurodynamic network (TVFxPGNN) has fixed-time stability and a settling time independent of the initial value.

Recalcitrance in microplastics accounts for ubiquitous white pollution. Of special interest are the capabilities of microorganisms to accelerate their degradation sustainably. Compared to the well-studied pure cultures in degrading natural polymers, the algal-bacterial symbiotic system is considered as a promising candidate for microplastics removal, cascading bottom-up impacts on ecosystem-scale processes.
