Superradiance occurs when a collection of atoms exhibits a cooperative, spontaneous emission of photons at a rate that exceeds that of its component parts. Here, we reveal a similar phenomenon in a hydrodynamic system consisting of a pair of vibrationally excited cavities, coupled through their common wave field, that spontaneously emit droplets via interfacial fracture. We show that the droplet emission rate of two coupled cavities is higher than the emission rate of two isolated cavities. Moreover, the amplified emission rate varies sinusoidally with distance between the cavities, as is characteristic of superradiance. We thus present a hydrodynamic phenomenon that captures several essential features of superradiance in optical systems.

Excavation of underground engineering structures involving deeply buried water-rich soft rocks is generally carried out using the artificial freezing method. A series of undrained uniaxial and triaxial shear and creep tests were conducted on soft rocks under different confining pressures (0, 0.2, 0.

Carbene-metal-amide (CMA) complexes have diverse applications in luminescence, imaging and sensing. In this study, we designed and synthesized a series of CMA complexes, which were subsequently doped into a PMMA host. These materials demonstrate light-induced dynamic phosphorescence, attributed to their long intrinsic triplet state lifetime (τP,int, in the μs-ms scale), high intersystem crossing (ISC) rate constant (kISC, up to 107 s-1), and bright phosphorescence.

In this work, within the framework of a self-consistent model of arc discharge, a simulation of plasma parameters in a mixture of argon and methane was carried out, taking into account the evaporation of the electrode material in the case of a refractory and non-refractory cathode. It is shown that in the case of a refractory tungsten cathode, almost the same methane conversion rate is observed, leading to similar values in the density of the main methane conversion products (C, C, H) at different values of the discharge current density. However, with an increase in the current density, the evaporation rate of copper atoms from the anode increases, and a jump in the - characteristic is observed, caused by a change in the plasma-forming ion.

High-performance lightweight materials are urgently needed because of energy savings and emission reduction. Here, we design a new steel with a low density of 6.41 g/cm, which is a 20% weight reduction compared to the conventional steel.
