Employing a Phased, Interdisciplinary Approach Across Healthcare and School Settings: mHealth Adaptations for Youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder At-Risk of Experiencing Obesity.

Youth with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are at nearly twice the risk of experiencing obesity, compared to youth without ASD. Wellness Education to Create Healthy habits and Actions to Thrive (WE CHAT) is a novel chatbot that engages participants to enhance primary care delivery and associated care coordination services through mobile health (mHealth) technology focused on social determinants of health (SDOH) and social-emotional health. This study examines multiple perspectives regarding the development and implementation of innovative mHealth technology among youth with ASD.

Incongruent virtual reality cycling exercise demonstrates a role of perceived effort in cardiovascular control.

In this study we have used a highly immersive virtual reality (VR) cycling environment where incongruence between virtual hill gradient (created by visual gradient and bike tilt angle) and actual workload (pedalling resistance) can experimentally manipulate perception of exercise effort. This therefore may provide a method to examine the role of effort perception in cardiorespiratory control during exercise. Twelve healthy untrained participants (7 men, age 26 ± 5 years) were studied during five visits.

To enhance treatment outcomes, hydrogels loaded with photothermal agents and activated by near-infrared (NIR) light for localized tumor therapy have attracted considerable attention. This approach minimizes drug dosage and mitigates the adverse effects of systemic drug delivery on healthy tissues.

Basic Science and Pathogenesis.

Background: The locus coeruleus (LC), is the first brain region to develop hyperphosphorylated tau (ptau) inclusions in Alzheimer's disease (AD) and undergoes catastrophic degeneration in later stages of the disease. Importantly, the LC is the main noradrenergic nucleus in the brain and source of NE in the forebrain, and dysregulation of the neurotransmitter norepinephrine (NE) is associated with AD symptoms, as its release in the forebrain regulates attention, arousal, stress response, and learning and memory. Moreover, the LC may transmit pathogenic tau to the forebrain via its extensive projections.
