Taken from the largest U.S. cohort of patients with SARS-CoV2, our results demonstrate the association of even partial vaccination with lower risk of MACE after SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Objective: The aim of the study was to examine the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on frequency of well-child follow-up visits and immunization rate in Turkish tertiary reference hospital's Well-Child Care Outpatient Clinic.
Methods: Children aged one month to 18 years who presented to the Well Child Care Outpatient Clinic of a tertiary referral hospital in Turkey for child health follow-up and immunisation were included in the study. Children with chronic diseases or children who needed to be immunised with a different scheme due to their special conditions were not included.

Spatially concentrated, vaccine-hesitant populations represent an ongoing challenge to public health policies that emphasize mass vaccination as a means to eradicating certain infectious diseases. Previous research suggests that Amish populations, which are spatially clustered and rapidly growing, may be undervaccinated. However, existing evidence is limited to local case studies in pre-COVID-19 contexts.

Lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) are often liver tropic, presenting challenges for LNP-delivered mRNA therapeutics intended for other tissues, as off-target expression in the liver may increase side effects and modulate immune responses. To avoid off-target expression in the liver, miR-122 binding sites have been used by others in viral and non-viral therapeutics. Here, we use a luciferase reporter system to compare different copy numbers and insertion locations of miR-122 binding sequences to restrict liver expression.

Hybrid-immune and immunodeficient individuals have been identified by the World Health Organization as two vulnerable groups in the context of COVID-19, but their distinct characteristics remain underexplored. To address this gap, we developed an extended compartmental model that simulates the spread of COVID-19 and the impact of administering three doses of the vaccine (first, second, and booster). This study aims to provide insights into how these vulnerable populations respond to vaccination and the dynamics of waning immunity.
