Three donor-acceptor compounds based on the imidazo-pyrazine-5,6-dicarbonitrile (IPDC) acceptor were synthesized. The IPDC emitters exhibit blue to near-infrared (NIR) emission with up to 54 % photoluminescent quantum yield. 9,9-Dimethyl-9,10-dihydroacridine (ACR), phenoxazine (POX), and phenothiazine (PTZ) served as electron donors. IPDC-POX displayed NIR emission in toluene solution, while showing room-temperature phosphorescence in the solid state. IPDC-ACR exhibited yellow thermally activated delayed fluorescence. Interestingly, dual-emissive behavior as well as excitation-dependent thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) was found for IPDC-PTZ, arising from the two conformers of phenothiazine derivatives. Overall, this work describes a novel strong electron acceptor from the fusion of imidazole, pyrazine, and nitrile functional groups into one conjugated heterocycle for materials exhibiting NIR emission, TADF, and/or room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP).

Background: High-temperature environment can cause acute kidney injury affecting renal filtration function. To study the mechanism of renal injury caused by heat stress through activates TLR4/NF-κB/NLRP3 signaling pathway by disrupting the filtration barrier in broiler chickens. The temperature of broilers in the TN group was maintained at 23 ± 1 °C, and the HS group temperature was maintained at 35 ± 1℃ from the age of 21 days, and the high temperature was 10 h per day, and one broiler from each replicate group at the age of 35 and 42 days was selected for blood sampling, respectively.

Visible light photocatalysts hold great promise for water purification, yet research on highly efficient, non-toxic photocatalysts is limited. This study synthesized novel g-CN/AlOOH photocatalytic nanocomposites via thermal condensation, enhancing adsorption and visible light degradation by 36-fold and 11-fold, respectively, compared to g-CN alone. The nanocomposites achieved a 98% removal rate of methyl orange under xenon lamp irradiation (>400 nm) for 1 hour.

Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) exhibit broad-spectrum antibacterial activity and serve as effective antimicrobial agents against antibiotic-resistant bacteria. In this study, agricultural waste corn straw was used as the raw material to obtain cellulose nanocrystal (CNC) through enzymatic hydrolysis. The hydrolysate was employed as reducing agents to synthesize CNC-AgNPs.

Diabetes is associated with excessive inflammation, which negatively impacts the fracture healing process and delays bone repair. Previously, growing evidence indicated that activation of the nod-like receptor (NLR) family, such as nod-like receptor thermal protein domain-associated protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome induces a vicious cycle of chronic low-grade inflammatory responses in diabetic fracture. Here, we describe the synthesis of a bone adhesive hydrogel that can be locally injected into the fracture site and releases a natural inhibitor of NLRP3 (rutin) in response to pathological cue reactive oxygen species activity (ROS).

Turmeric (Curcuma longa L.) has gained significant attention for its medicinal properties, yet its therapeutic applications are often limited by low aqueous solubility and susceptibility to environmental factors. This study investigates the formulation of a curcumin-rich turmeric extract-β-cyclodextrin inclusion complex (TUE-β-CD) to enhance its bioactivity and stability.
