Functional Threshold Power (FTP) has been considered a valid alternative to other performance markers that represent the upper boundary of the heavy intensity domain. However, such a claim has not been empirically examined from a physiological perspective. This study examined the blood lactate and VO response when exercising at and 15 W above the FTP (FTP). Thirteen cyclists participated in the study. The VO was recorded continuously throughout FTP and FTP, with blood lactate measured before the test, every 10 minutes and at task failure. Data were subsequently analysed using two-way ANOVA. The time to task failure at FTP and FTP were 33.7 ± 7.6 and 22.0 ± 5.7 minutes (p < 0.001), respectively. The VO was not attained when exercising at FTP (VO: 3.61 ± 0.81 vs FTP 3.33 ± 0.68 L·min, p < 0.001). The VO stabilised during both intensities. However, the end test blood lactate corresponding to FTP and FTP was significantly different (6.7 ± 2.1 mM vs 9.2 ± 2.9 mM; p < 0.05). The VO response corresponding to FTP and FTP suggests that FTP should not be considered a threshold marker between heavy and severe intensity.

Fallopian tube papilloma (FTP) is one of the benign lesions of the oviduct and is a rare proliferative epithelial lesion. Low incidence and underreporting of the disease limit our knowledge of these lesions. These lesions cause a diagnostic dilemma and need to be differentiated from several other conditions of the fallopian tubes both benign and malignant.

Weather and soil water dictate farm operations such as irrigation scheduling. Low-cost and open-source agricultural monitoring stations are an emerging alternative to commercially available monitoring stations because they are often built from components using open-source, do-it-yourself (DIY) platforms and technologies. For irrigation management in an experimental vineyard located in Quiroga (Lugo, Spain), we faced the challenge of installing a low-cost environmental and soil parameter monitoring station composed of several nodes measuring air temperature and relative humidity, soil temperature, soil matric potential, and soil water content.

Future time perspectives (FTP) and future-related concerns in adolescence remain underexplored. We aimed to identify factors associated with limited FTP and describe future-related concerns. Data were drawn from a population-based sample of adolescents aged 14-17 participating in the SEROCoV-KIDS cohort study, in Geneva, Switzerland (October 2022).

Neglect remains understudied compared to other forms of maltreatment. While studies have shown that neglect has negative effects on mental health in adolescence, yet unresolved is whether these impacts result from critical period or cumulative effects. In the present article, we use a novel approach to compare these two hypotheses from the impact of two types of neglect, failure to provide (FTP) and lack of supervision (LOS), on adolescent depression and internalizing symptoms.

Frozen saline water irrigation (FSWI) is a method of effectively utilizing saline water to alleviate water scarcity. However, the coupled relationships among water, heat, and salt in soil irrigated with frozen saline water and the key influencing factors of FSWI on crop growth have not been clarified. Here, we conducted two consecutive years of in situ field plot experiments that focused on the freeze-thaw period (FTP) and crop growth period (CGP).
