Renal cell cancer is the most common type of kidney cancer in adults, and clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is the most diagnosed type. T cell immunoglobulin and mucin-domain-containing-3 (TIM-3) belongs to immunological checkpoints that are key regulators of the immune response. One of the known TIM-3 ligands is galectin-9 (). A limited number of studies have shown an association between polymorphisms and cancer risk in the Asian population; however, there is no study on the role of polymorphisms in cancer. The present study aimed to analyze the influence of and polymorphisms on susceptibility to ccRCC and patient overall survival (OS), with over ten years of observations. Using TaqMan probes, ARMS-PCR, and RFPL-PCR, we genotyped two single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs): rs1036199 and rs10057302, and four SNPs: rs361497, rs3751093, rs4239242, and rs4794976. We found that the presence of the rs10057302 A allele (AC + AA genotypes) as well as the rs4794976 T allele (GT + TT genotypes) decreased susceptibility to ccRCC by two-fold compared to corresponding homozygotes. A subgroup analysis showed the association of some SNPs with clinical features. Moreover, rs1036199 significantly influenced OS. Our results indicate that variations within and genes are associated with ccRCC risk and OS.

Introduction: The American Urology Association (AUA) recently introduced in their guidelines a subtype-agnostic, 4-tiered risk classification score to assess oncologic outcomes after surgery in patients with localized renal cell carcinoma (RCC). We provide a head-to-head comparison of the AUA score with 3, internationally validated and EAU recommended, histological-specific models.
Materials And Methods: We retrieved from a prospectively-maintained database 2,560 surgically-treated patients with localized RCC in a single high-volume European center (1987-2023).

Background: The tumor microenvironment (TME) is integral to tumor progression. However, its prognostic implications and underlying mechanisms in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) are not yet fully elucidated. This study aims to examine the prognostic significance of genes associated with immune-stromal scores and to explore their underlying mechanisms in ccRCC.

Background: Treatment options for patients with high-risk metastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma (mccRCC) include immune checkpoint inhibitors and tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), but clinical manifestations and treatment of these patients are rarely reported because patients with cardiac metastases and abrupt circulatory disorders are very rare and there are no precise guidelines to follow. In this study, we analyzed and discussed the clinical characteristics, related characteristics, pathogenesis and treatment strategies of patients with cardiac metastases of kidney cancer, so as to provide reference for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac metastatic tumors.
Case Description: The patient was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma and underwent surgical radical resection, no special treatment was performed after surgery.

Clear cell renal cell carcinoma is a prevalent urological malignancy, imposing substantial burdens on both patients and society. In our study, we used bioinformatics methods to select four putative target genes associated with EMT and prognosis and developed a nomogram model which could accurately predicting 5-year patient survival rates. We further analyzed proteome and single-cell data and selected PLCG2 and TMEM38A for the following experiments.

Objective: The aim of this work is to identify putative hub genes for the advancement of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) and determine the fundamental mechanisms.
Methods: We employed multiple bioinformatics techniques to screen hub genes. Key hub gene expression levels in ccRCC were assessed.
