The ethanol extract of the fungus collected from north-central British Columbia, Canada, showed strong antiproliferative activity. Bioassay-guided purification using liquid-liquid extraction and Sephadex LH-20 size-exclusion chromatography, followed by HPLC-MS and 1D/2D NMR analyses, led to the isolation of five known compounds; four -terphenyl (-) derivatives and one phenolic aldehyde (). Compounds , , and were isolated for the first time from the genus. The cytotoxicity MTT assay showed that compounds - have antiproliferative activity against human cervical cancer cells (HeLa). For compounds , this is the first report of their antiproliferative activity against cancer cells. For compound , this is the first report on its bioactivity. To our knowledge, this is the first description of the isolation of bioactive constituents from .

Sotatercept binds free activins by mimicking the extracellular domain of the activin receptor type IIA (ACTRIIA). Additional ligands are BMP/TGF-beta, GDF8, GDF11 and BMP10. The binding with activins leads to the inhibition of the signalling pathway and the deactivation of the bone morphogenic protein (BMP) receptor type 2.

Background: Bladder cancer is one of the most common malignancies of the urinary system. Despite significant advances in diagnosis and treatment, the compromised therapeutic effect of chemotherapeutic agents, such as Oxaliplatin (OXA), remains a major clinical challenge. Thus, a combination therapy is required to enhance the OXA's therapeutic effectiveness and improve patient outcomes.

Resistance to endocrine therapies remains a major clinical hurdle in breast cancer. Mutations to estrogen receptor alpha (ERα) arise after continued therapeutic pressure. Next generation selective estrogen receptor modulators and degraders/downregulators (SERMs and SERDs) show clinical efficacy, but responses are often non-durable.

The present study was aimed at revealing the metabolic changes that occurred in the cellular lipid pattern of acute and chronic myeloid leukaemia cells following treatment with cannabidiol (CBD). CBD is a non-psychoactive compound present in Cannabis sativa L., which has shown an antiproliferative action in these type of cancer cells.

Dysregulation of choline phospholipid metabolism and overexpression of phosphatidylcholine-specific phospholipase C (PC-PLC) is implicated in various cancers. Current known enzyme inhibitors include compounds based on a 2-morpholino-5--benzylamino benzoic acid, or hydroxamic acid, scaffold. In this work, 81 compounds were made by modifying this core structure to explore the pharmacophore.
