Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) has become a serious global health threat. Education could play a decisive role, so the scope of innovative educational projects, such as MicroMundo, should be analysed. MicroMundo is a service-learning project for the exploration of microbial biodiversity in soils in search of new antibiotics. In order to evaluate the contribution of MicroMundo to the improvement of knowledge about AMR as well as the optimal age of the participants, an open questionnaire before and after the educational intervention (for secondary school students) and a satisfaction survey (for all participants) were carried out. Programme instruction began in university and continued through secondary school; 14 teachers (phase 1) and 137 students from three educational levels (phase 2) participated. MicroMundo was successfully implemented, showing a statistically significant improvement in knowledge about antibiotics, resistance, health and environmental consequences, and possible measures to reverse the problem, at all educational levels. Furthermore, the satisfaction surveys revealed a growing interest in research and science. Therefore, students of general branches who have not yet opted for a scientific line would be the most suitable to conduct the programme. In conclusion, MicroMundo is recommended as a training method to raise awareness about AMR and promote scientific vocations.

In this study, ultrasound-assisted glycated ovalbumin (G-UOVA) based on natural deep eutectic solvents (NADES) was prepared using response surface optimization. The binding affinity of (-)-gallocatechin gallate (GCG) to native OVA (NOVA), ultrasound treated OVA (UOVA), glycated OVA (GOVA), and G-UOVA followed G-UOVA > GOVA > UOVA > NOVA. The effects of various modifications and GCG binding on the secondary structure, particle size, and thermal stability of NOVA were investigated.

Background: In recent years, the adoption of large language model (LLM) applications, such as ChatGPT, has seen a significant surge, particularly among students. These artificial intelligence-driven tools offer unprecedented access to information and conversational assistance, which is reshaping the way students engage with academic content and manage the learning process. Despite the growing prevalence of LLMs and reliance on these technologies, there remains a notable gap in qualitative in-depth research examining the emotional and psychological effects of LLMs on users' mental well-being.

Objective: The objective was to evaluate the etiology, natural history, and impact of surgical intervention on outcomes of left ventricular assist device (LVAD) patients presenting with intracranial hemorrhage (ICH).
Methods: The authors completed a retrospective review of LVAD patients who presented with ICH at 2 centers between 2013 and 2022. Patients were reviewed for demographic, clinical, and radiographic variables.

Arterial hypertension in young adults, which includes patients between 19 and 40 years of age, has been increasing in recent years and is associated with a significantly higher risk of target organ damage and short-term mortality. It has been reported that up to 10% of these cases are due to a potentially reversible secondary cause, mainly of endocrine (primary aldosteronism, Cushing's syndrome, and pheochromocytoma/paraganglioma), renal (renovascular hypertension due to fibromuscular dysplasia and renal parenchymal disease), or cardiac (coarctation of the aorta) origin. It is recommended to rule out a secondary cause of high blood pressure (BP) in those patients with early onset of grade 2 or 3 hypertension, acute worsening of previously controlled hypertension, resistant hypertension, hypertensive emergency, severe target organ damage disproportionate to the grade of hypertension, or in the face of clinical or biochemical characteristics suggestive of a secondary cause of hypertension.

Objective: The objective of this study was to compare a multiple pelvic screw fixation strategy (dual bilateral 4 pelvic screw fixation [4PvS]) with the use of single bilateral 2 pelvic screw fixation (2PvS), with the aim of addressing lumbosacral junction stability.
Methods: This analysis is a single-center, retrospective review of ASD patients treated between 2015 and 2021. All patients had a minimum 2-year follow-up and spinal fusion to the sacrum without sacroiliac fusion and met at least one radiographic and procedural criterion: pelvic incidence-lumbar lordosis ≥ 20°, T1 pelvic angle ≥ 20°, sagittal vertical axis ≥ 7.
