In accordance with Article 31 of Regulation (EC) No 178/2002, EFSA received a mandate from the European Commission to issue a scientific statement concerning the confirmatory data following the review of the existing maximum residue levels (MRLs) under Article 12 of Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 for triclopyr. Although the required application in support to the confirmatory data following the MRL review was not submitted within deadline, some information identified as unavailable in the MRL review has been made available to EFSA in the context of other applications submitted under different regulatory processes. Based on the assessment of the available data, EFSA concluded that the tentative MRL for apples, pears and peaches is confirmed.

Background And Objectives: Numerous traditional and innovative approaches have been employed to understand and evaluate children's food preferences and food and nutrition knowledge, recognizing their essential role in shaping good nutrition. Drawing as a projective technique allows children to express their unconscious thoughts and preferences through visual representation, distinguishing it from other methods by providing an insight into their inner feelings and perceptions that may not be easily articulated through verbal techniques. The main goals of the study are to use drawing as a projective technique to gain insights into children's food preferences, and to examine the children's current nutrition knowledge and dietary perceptions.

Typically, root system architecture (RSA) is not visible, and realistically, high-throughput methods for RSA trait phenotyping should capture key features of developing root systems in solid substrates in 3D. In a published 2-D study using thin rhizoboxes, vermiculite as a growing medium, and photography for imaging, triplicates of 137 soybean cultivars were phenotyped for their RSA. In the transition to 3-D work using X-ray computed tomography (CT) scanning and mineral soil, two research questions are addressed: (1) how different is the soybean RSA characterization between the two phenotyping systems; and (2) is a direct comparison of the results reliable? Prior to a full-scale study in 3D, we grew, in pots filled with sand, triplicates of the Casino and OAC Woodstock cultivars that had shown the most contrasting RSAs in the 2-D study, and CT scanned them at the V1 vegetative stage of development of the shoots.

The lactic fermentation of fruit and vegetable juices by well-characterised probiotics remains relatively underexplored. We have investigated the stability and impact of KABP051 fermentation on orange, apple, and peach juices by microbiological, physicochemical, and sensory evaluation means. For each fruit juice, three different samples were analysed: original fruit juice without probiotic as blank (B), fruit juice inoculated with 10 CFU/mL of probiotic without fermentation (P), and fruit juice inoculated with 10 CFU/mL of probiotic and fermented at 37 °C for 24 h (PF).
