The chondromas of laryngeal cartilage constitute less than 1% of common mesenchymal tumors of the larynx. 70-75% of chondroma is located at the endolaryngeal surface of the cricoid cartilage. Here is a case report of the chondroma of arytenoid cartilage-a rare site of occurrence. A middle aged male patient, presented to the outpatient department of otorhinolaryngology with a history of hoarseness of voice. On Flexible laryngoscopy [Pentax, Tokyo, Japan], the right vocal cord was found to be immobile along with a smooth bulge noted over the arytenoid cartilage. The computerized tomography scan of the neck showed a well-defined peripherally calcified lesion arising from the superior aspect of right arytenoid cartilage possibly chondroma. Patient underwent microlaryngeal surgery and sub mucosal excision of the arytenoid mass which was confirmed as chondroma on histopathological examination. High degree of suspicion is required while examining a patient with hoarseness of voice and one should have chondroma as one of the differential diagnosis.

The laryngeal mound (LM) formed the caudal part of the pharyngeal floor, which varied in position, shape, and length at different ages. This work aimed to study the morphogenesis of the LM in the embryonic and post hatching periods grossly, histologically, and by scanning electron microscopy using forty-eight Japanese quails. The LM primordia appeared on the 8th day of incubation as a raised elevation carried on a deep median symmetrical sulcus (glottis primordium).

Background: In emergency settings, difficult intubations often occur unexpectedly despite pre-intubation assessments. Traditional glottic view scoring systems for direct laryngoscope may not apply to video laryngoscopy. With video laryngoscopy, the vertical location of the glottis on the monitor can be clearly defined.

Objective: Ultrasound provides real-time anatomical information and motion. We used ultrasound to image the cricoarytenoid joint and its rotating, rocking, and gliding movements.
Methods: Between March and October 2023, 20 patients (10 males and 10 females) who visited our hospital underwent laryngeal ultrasonography.

Due to concerns about disagreement between veterinarians when grading resting laryngeal function (LF), a diagnostic decision tree (DDT) has been developed by codifying the Havemeyer grading system and objectively defining certain terms to remove ambiguity. Videoendoscopic examinations of the equine larynx that had previously been assigned a unanimous LF grade by 3 experienced observers were used to develop the DDT and determine the cut-off values. The DDT is a flow chart consisting of a series of dichotomous (yes/no) decisions, to dictate the order of decision making and direct the observer down a pathway towards the most appropriate LF grade.
