Primary solitary neurofibromas of facial nerve in the parotid are rare. We present a case of solitary neurofibroma of facial nerve within parotid gland in a 38 year old gentleman who presented with left sided painful preauricular swelling of 3 months duration with normal facial nerve function.Computed tomography (CT) revealed a well marginated solid mass within superficial lobe of left parotid gland showing mild enhancement. The mass could not be delineated from peripheral buccal branch of facial nerve during surgery and histopathology revealed a neurofibroma.

Postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) is a severe and persistent pain condition following herpes zoster infection. This case report details the analgesic effects of acupuncture combined with electroacupuncture in a 66-year-old male patient presenting with PHN and peripheral facial paralysis, who showed limited response to conventional treatment with corticosteroids and antiviral medications. Following a comprehensive treatment protocol, including pricking-cupping bloodletting, and targeted acupuncture, the patient experienced significant pain relief and improved facial nerve function.

Clinical outcomes were evaluated, and patient-reported outcomes were assessed using a Visual Analogue Scale and five FACE-Q scales.
