Background: Deep learning is the state-of-the-art approach for automated segmentation of the left ventricle (LV) and right ventricle (RV) in cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) images. However, these models have been mostly trained and validated using CMR datasets of structurally normal hearts or cases with acquired cardiac disease, and are therefore not well-suited to handle cases with congenital cardiac disease such as tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). We aimed to develop and validate a dedicated model with improved performance for LV and RV cavity and myocardium quantification in patients with repaired TOF.

Background: Patients with concomitant type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and aortic regurgitation (AR) can present with right ventricular (RV) dysfunction. The current study aimed to evaluate the impact of AR on RV impairment and the importance of ventricular interdependence using cardiac magnetic resonance feature tracking (CMR‑FT) in patients with T2DM.
Methods: This study included 229 patients with T2DM (AR-), 88 patients with T2DM (AR+), and 122 healthy controls.

Objective: To assess the principles of qualification and the range of organ transplantation in a patient with diagnosis of system sclerosis with pulmonary manifestation and severe myocardial insufficiency.
Methods: We present the case of a 43-year-old patient with confirmed systemic sclerosis with pulmonary manifestations and biventricular heart insufficiency after disease exacerbation and sudden cardiac arrest in the pulseless electrical activity (PEA) mechanism with effective resuscitation, with increasing shortness of breath and the need for inotropes and levosimendan infusion without a significant improvement in his general status. Owing to the diagnosis of a systemic disease with no option for pharmacologic or any other treatment for heart failure, he was reevaluated and put on an urgent waiting list for isolated heart transplantation.

Aims: Hypertensive patients of African ancestry (Afr-a) have higher incidences of heart failure and worse clinical outcomes than hypertensive patients of European ancestry (Eu-a), yet the underlying mechanisms remain misunderstood. This study investigated right (RV) and left (LV) ventricular remodelling alongside myocardial tissue derangements between Afr-a and Eu-a hypertensives.
Methods And Results: 63 Afr-a and 47 Eu-a hypertensives underwent multi-parametric cardiovascular magnetic resonance.

Deep intertrabecular recesses and overly pronounced trabeculations in one ventricle are the hallmarks of noncompaction cardiomyopathy (NCCM), a rare congenital cardiomyopathy but very rarely right ventricle (RV), or both ventricles may be involved. We reported a 5-day-old preterm newborn with signs of congestive heart failure that the transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) revealed deep intertrabecular recesses perfused from the left ventricle (LV) and RV cavity, as well as significantly increased wall thickness of the right ventricles and hypertrabeculations in the apical and midventricular segments.
