Background: Autophagy-lysosomal pathway (ALP) efficiency declines Alzheimer's disease (AD). In AD mouse models expressing a fluorescent autophagy and pH probe, autolysosomes pH elevation, resulting from deficient v-ATPase activity, causes autophagy substrates, including Aβ and APP-βCTF, to build up selectively within autolysosomes before extracellular amyloid deposits. In the most compromised but still intact neurons, massive numbers of Aβ-positive autolysosomes pack into huge petal-like blebs bulging out from the perikaryal membrane (PANTHOS).

Background: Bladder injury during cesarean delivery (CD) in pregnant women with severe placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) disorders mostly occurs in the dissection of vesico-uterine space. Placental MRI may help to assess the risk of bladder injury preoperatively.

Purpose: To identify the high-risk MRI signs of bladder injury during CD in women with severe PAS.

Background: Thymic cysts can be classified as congenital or acquired. Most thymic cysts do not change in size over a short period of time. Although very rare, thymic cyst rupture is associated with serious complications, such as mediastinal hemorrhage and hemothorax.

One of the hallmarks of RNA viruses is highly structured untranslated regions (UTRs) which are often essential for viral replication, transcription, or translation. In this report, we discovered a series of coumarin derivatives that bind to a four-way RNA helix called SL5 in the 5' UTR of the SARS-CoV-2 RNA genome. To locate the binding site, we developed a sequencing-based method namely cgSHAPE-seq, in which an acylating probe was directed to crosslink with the 2'-OH group of ribose at the binding site to create read-through mutations during reverse transcription.

Deoxycholic acid (DCA) injection is applied in treating moderate to severe submental bulge or facial fullness caused by excessive submental fat accumulation. Using ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) technology, which was swiftly, precisely, and reliably confirmed, DCA was determined in human plasma with low quantification limits of 56 ng/mL. We selected six healthy individual blank human plasma with low concentrations of endogenous DCA and mixed them to prepare standard curve samples.
