The objective of this study was to understand older adults' perceptions of the connections between an exergame intervention, "I Am Dolphin," and their subjective well-being. Researchers conducted three focus groups with 14 older adults who participated in the exergame feasibility study. The semi-structured focus groups were transcribed, coded, and analysed using deductive and inductive techniques. Three themes were constructed related to playing the exergame and participants' subjective well-being: 1) elevated mood (through scheduled activity, immersion, and socialization), 2) feelings of achievement (especially following frustration and competition), and 3) perceived cognitive or physical changes. These findings will help researchers better understand how exergames may relate to the well-being of older adults. Future investigators could use these findings to create and implement new exergame interventions.

Background: The Sino-nasal Outcome Test (SNOT-22) is a 22-question survey that is utilized to evaluate health-related quality of life of patients with chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS). The Patient Global Impression Symptom Severity (PGISS) is a similar yet versatile instrument that combines features of both a Likert scale and a visual analog to assess symptom severity in CRS patients. While previous studies have evaluated the validity of SNOT-22 as an instrument to measure CRS patients' symptom severity, no studies have evaluated PGISS scale's ability to evaluate and guide treatment plans for CRS patients.

Background: To support informal caregivers of persons with dementia (PwD), it is fundamental to understand how objective and subjective indicators of care burden are interrelated. This study used psychometric network analyses to explore care burden indicators and extend current models of care in informal caregivers of PwDs.

Methods: Baseline data from an intervention study of 170 informal caregivers of community-dwelling PwDs was used.

Background: Subjective cognitive decline (SCD) represents an important therapeutic target to prevent future cognitive decline associated with aging as well as neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease. One such therapy is the "dual-task" exergaming with concurrent aerobic exercise (AEx) and cognitive training. The primary aim of this Stage IB randomized controlled trial (RCT) was to test the preliminary effects of a dual-task exergaming telerehabilitation intervention on cognition and aerobic fitness, in comparison to AEx only and attention control (stretching) in older adults with SCD METHOD: This RCT randomized 39 participants on a 2:1:1 allocation ratio to supervised exergame (Figure 1) (n = 20), AEx (n = 11), and stretching (n = 8), 3 times a week for 12 weeks.

Background: The deficit of unawareness of cognitive impairment (cognitive anosognosia) is known to be associated with adverse health outcomes, caregiver burden, and worse cognitive outcomes. A better understanding of cognitive self-awareness and the ability to self-judge cognitive performance among the general population would enable a rational design of cognitive screening and improve how subjective cognitive decline and self-reported errors at tasks like medication administration are interpreted.

Method: Participants were enrolled in the Framingham Heart Study, which is a community-based cohort with three generations of participants.

Background: Intact awareness of impaired task performance can facilitate the adoption of cognitive strategies to support performance. However, most studies have not examined awareness of task performance (an element of metacognition) relative to complex everyday activities. The Weekly Calendar Planning Activity (WCPA) is a performance-based assessment of functional cognition that includes indicators of awareness during performance of a simulated complex instrumental activity of daily living (IADL).
