The harmonization of international temperature measurements requires the high-accuracy realization of many different temperature reference points. This results from the feature of the intensive measurand temperature that temperatures cannot simply be divided or multiplied. Thus, the points must cover the whole range of interest, at present from 1 mK to a few 1000 K. Furthermore, instruments are necessary for the interpolation between the non-continuous guide values. This led to the establishment of International Temperature Scales (ITS). The ITS prescribe interpolation instruments and assign fixed temperature values to suitable phase transitions without uncertainty. The large temperature range can only be covered by applying very different phase transitions. This includes the classical transitions, namely triple, melting, and freezing points, but also second-order transitions, as superfluid and superconducting ones, and the very new eutectic or peritectic points of metal-carbon compositions. A high-accuracy realization requires a reliable uncertainty estimation. This is, therefore, the central topic of this review. Since a given non-ideal condition of a sample, especially the impurity content, cannot be reproduced as accurate as necessary, the fixed- and reference-point temperatures are defined for ideal substances under ideal conditions. Thus, the estimation of the uncertainty of the realizations must be based on estimating the magnitude of all physical effects influencing the observed phase-transition temperature. The application of this methodology is discussed in the paper as unifying topic independent of the individual problems to be solved. Furthermore, recommendations of the Consultative Committee for Thermometry are summarized, and own experiences are supplemented.

Hardware implementation of reconfigurable and nonvolatile photoresponsivity is essential for advancing in-sensor computing for machine vision applications. However, existing reconfigurable photoresponsivity essentially depends on the photovoltaic effect of p-n junctions, which photoelectric efficiency is constrained by Shockley-Queisser limit and hinders the achievement of high-performance nonvolatile photoresponsivity. Here, we employ bulk photovoltaic effect of rhombohedral (3R) stacked/interlayer sliding tungsten disulfide (WS) to surpass this limit and realize highly reconfigurable, nonvolatile photoresponsivity with a retinomorphic photovoltaic device.

The paper proposes a multi-rigid-body system state identification method based on self-healing model in order to improve the accuracy and reliability of CNC machine tools. Firstly, considering the influence of the joint surface, the Lagrange method is used to establish the mechanical model of the multi-rigid-body system. We input acceleration information and use the second-order modulation function to complete the online real-time identification of the joint surface parameters, thereby establishing the self-healing mechanical model of the multi-rigid-body system.

Mechano-Graded Contact-Electrification Interfaces Based Artificial Mechanoreceptors for Robotic Adaptive Reception.

Triboelectrification-based artificial mechanoreceptors (TBAMs) is able to convert mechanical stimuli directly into electrical signals, realizing self-adaptive protection and human-machine interactions of robots. However, traditional contact-electrification interfaces are prone to reaching their deformation limits under large pressures, resulting in a relatively narrow linear range. In this work, we fabricated mechano-graded microstructures to modulate the strain behavior of contact-electrification interfaces, simultaneously endowing the TBAMs with a high sensitivity and a wide linear detection range.

Particulate matters (PMs), one of the major airborne pollutants, continue to seriously threaten human health and the environment. Here, a self-crystal-induced electret enhancement (SCIEE) strategy was developed to promote the in-situ electret effect and polarization properties of electrospun poly(L-lactic acid) (PLLA) nanofibers. The strategy specifically involved the elaborate pre-structuring of stereocomplex crystals (SCs) with uniform dimensions (∼300 nm), which were introduced into PLLA electrospinning solution as the electrets and physical cross-linking points of high density.
