Edge contacts offer a significant advantage for enhancing the performance of semiconducting transition metal dichalcogenide (TMDC) devices by interfacing with the metallic contacts on the lateral side, which allows the encapsulation of all of the channel material. However, despite intense research, the fabrication of feasible electrical edge contacts to TMDCs to improve device performance remains a great challenge, as interfacial chemical characterization via conventional methods is lacking. A major bottleneck in explicitly understanding the chemical and electronic properties of the edge contact at the metal-two-dimensional (2D) semiconductor interface is the small cross section when characterizing nominally one-dimensional edge contacts.

In this paper, a multilayer monopulse antenna at Ku-Band with high efficiency, high power handling capability, high gain, 45° linear polarization and low sidelobe is presented. A new slot antenna is proposed as a radiating element based on a cavity-backed slot-coupled patch antenna. Using an enclosed cavity structure reduces coupling between antenna elements, thus increasing the antenna efficiency.

Background: Perioral rejuvenation is challenging due to the lack of spatial anatomical understanding of the labiomandibular fold (LMF). The LMF's formation mechanism remains underexplored due to intricate relationships between musculature and subcutaneous structures. This study aimed to clarify the three-dimensional structures of the LMF using micro-computed tomography and histology.

A simple pore microstructure of parallel, identical, and inclined smooth-walled slits in a rigid solid, for which prediction of its geometrical and acoustic properties is straightforward, can yield useful sound absorption. This microstructure should be relatively amenable to 3D printing. Discrepancies between measurements and predictions of normal incidence sound absorption spectra of 3D printed vertical and slanted slit pore samples have been attributed to the rough surfaces of the slit walls and uneven slit cross-sections perpendicular to the printing direction.

This study examines how media acquisitions by corporate conglomerates influence the political slant of Australian newspapers. Using a comprehensive measure based on the language of over 30 million news articles from more than 200 newspapers, we analyze the impact of three major acquisitions between 2016 and 2019. Employing a synthetic difference-in-differences approach, we find that acquisitions can significantly shift newspapers' political slant, with effects varying by acquiring entity.
