Bacterial infection and oxidative stress hinder clinical wound healing. Therefore, wound dressings with antibacterial and antioxidative properties are urgently needed. In this study, a type of quaternized lignin (QL) functionalized poly(hexamethylene biguanide) hydrochloride (PHMB) complex incorporated polyacrylamide (QL-PHMB-PAM) hydrogel was developed as a multifunctional dressing material for the promotion of infected wound repair. Owing to the abundant catechol groups of quaternized lignin, the QL-PHMB-PAM hydrogel exhibited robust repeatable adhesiveness to various substrates with antioxidative properties. Additionally, the antibacterial components of PHMB in the QL-PHMB-PAM composite hydrogel showed high efficiency and long-term antibacterial activity against , , and methicillin-resistant (; up to 100%). Furthermore, experiments indicated that this multifunctional hydrogel accelerated the healing of -infected wounds by promoting the reconstruction of blood vessels and hair follicles. These results demonstrate that this antioxidative, antibacterial, and bioadhesive hydrogel is a promising alternative wound dressing material for the prevention of bacterial infections and the acceleration of infected wound regeneration.

Measles virus (MeV) is a highly contagious respiratory virus transmitted via aerosols. To understand how MeV exits the airways of an infected host, we use unpassaged primary cultures of human airway epithelial cells (HAE). MeV typically remains cell-associated in HAE and forms foci of infection, termed infectious centers, by directly spreading cell-to-cell.

Diabetic ulcers (DUs) are characterized by a microenvironment with high oxidative stress, high blood glucose levels, and recalcitrant bacterial infections. This microenvironment is accompanied by long-term suppression of endogenous antioxidant systems, which makes their clinical management extremely challenging. To address this issue, a hybridized novel gold-palladium (AuPd) nanoshell of the injectable/injectable hydrogel system UiO/AuPd/BNN6/PEG@Gel (UAPsBP@Gel) is developed.

Introduction Cosmetic surgery has advanced significantly, with wound closure techniques crucial for determining aesthetic and healing outcomes. Recently, cyanoacrylate glue and subcuticular sutures have gained attention for their unique benefits in cosmetic procedures. Cyanoacrylate glue, a non-invasive tissue adhesive, facilitates faster wound closure with minimal trauma, while subcuticular sutures offer durable, concealed closures, particularly suited for areas under mechanical stress.
