Objective: Pholiota adiposa is a valuable edible and medicinal fungus. In this research, Ergosta-4, 6, 8(14), 22-tetraen-3-one (ETO) was obtained from Pholiota adiposa which is the first time to study the anti-diabetic and related mechanism.

Methods: Ergosta-4, 6, 8 (14), 22-tetraen-3-one (ETO) was defined by IR and NMR. Relevant biochemical indicators were detected by ELISA assay, hematoxylin-eosin staining (H & E), fasting glucose levels (FBG), oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT), tissue homogenate biochemical measurements, immunohistochemical staining and western blot.

Results: In this research, the ETO treatment groups exhibited a significant reduction in fasting blood glucose (FBG) levels, the High dose group (HD) was about 10 mmol/L lower than the diabetic control group (DC), and increase in body weight, the HD group weighed about 5 g more than the DC group on average. Also, the levels of triacylglycerol (TG), total cholesterol (TC), and low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C) were found to be decreased, while the levels of high-density superoxide dismutase (SOD), lipoproteincholesterol (HDL-C), catalase (CAT), and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) were increased in the ETO treatment groups. The pancreatic and liver sections of diabetic control group (DC) exhibited several histopathological changes, but the ETO treatment groups exhibited improvements. ETO treatment led to the significant restoration of islet morphology and function. Moreover, the results of the western blot analysis indicate that ETO could be used for the treatment of diabetes, since it modifies part of the IRS1 / PI3K / AKT signaling pathway.

Introduction: Understanding differences in clinical outcomes between PBSCT and BMT is important, and this study compared outcomes of HLA-matched related PBSCT and BMT using reduced-intensity conditioning (RIC) in adult acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients.

Methods: Data from 402 patients who underwent either PBSCT ( = 294) or BMT ( = 108) between 2000 and 2022 were analyzed using the Japanese nationwide registry database. The primary endpoint was overall survival (OS), and secondary endpoints included disease-free survival (DFS), non-relapse mortality (NRM), and GVHD.

Radiotherapy is a critical treatment for cancer but poses significant risks to ovarian tissue, particularly in young females, leading to premature ovarian failure (POF). This study examines the therapeutic potential of etoricoxib nanostructured lipid carriers (ETO-NLC) in mitigating radiation-induced ovarian damage in female rats. Twenty-four female rats were randomly assigned to four groups: a control group receiving normal saline, a group exposed to a single dose of whole-body gamma radiation (6 Gy), a group treated with etoricoxib (10 mg/kg) post-radiation, and a group treated with ETO-NLC for 14 days following radiation.

Background: Combining natural compounds with chemotherapeutic agents has emerged as a promising approach for cancer treatment. Curcumin (Cur), a natural polyphenol, is known for its anti-cancer properties, including the ability to induce apoptosis and arrest cell cycle progression.

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of Cur and etoposide (ETO), both individually and in combination, on the induction of apoptosis in breast cancer (BC) cell lines.

Background: Patients with adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATL) are considered to have worse outcomes after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) than patients with other hematological malignancies, owing to high risk of relapse and immunocompromised status. However, no studies have compared transplant outcomes between patients with ATL and those with other hematological malignancies using a large-scale database.

Objectives: To compare transplant outcomes between patients with ATL and those with other leukemias and to identify factors contributing to worse transplant outcomes in ATL patients.
