Background: The left and right temporoparietal junctions (TPJs) are two brain areas involved in several brain networks, largely studied for their diverse roles, from attentional orientation to theory of mind and, recently, predictive processing. In predictive processing, one crucial concept is prior precision, that is, the reliability of the predictions of incoming stimuli. This has been linked with modulations of alpha power as measured with electrophysiological techniques, but TPJs have seldom been studied in this framework.

Interval walking training (IWT) is a free-living training intervention involving alternating fast and slow walking cycles. IWT is efficacious in improving physical fitness and muscle strength, and reducing factors associated with lifestyle-related diseases. In individuals with type 2 diabetes, IWT improves glycemic control directly through enhanced glucose effectiveness, challenging conventional views on mechanisms behind training-induced improvements in glycemic control.

The benefits of exercise involve skeletal muscle redox state alterations of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) and flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD). We determined the fiber-specific effects of acute exercise on the skeletal muscle redox state in healthy adults. Muscle biopsies were obtained from 19 participants (11 M, 8 F; 26 ± 4 yr) at baseline (fasted) and 30 min and 3 h after treadmill exercise at 80% maximal oxygen consumption (V̇o).

Visual attention span (VAS), which refers to the window size of multielement parallel processing in a short time, plays an important role in higher-level cognition (e.g., reading) as required by encoding large amounts of information input.
