Background: Sex is an important factor that contributes to both clinical and biological heterogeneity in Alzheimer's disease (AD), but the regulatory mechanisms underlying sex differences in AD are still not well understood. DNA methylation (DNAm) is an epigenetic modification that regulates gene transcription and is known to be involved in AD. However, due to analytical and biological complexity, few previous DNAm studies analyzed the X chromosome, where many genes influencing cognitive abilities and immune functions are located.

Background: Limbic-predominant age-related TDP-43 encephalopathy (LATE) can underlie clinical presentations mimicking Alzheimer's disease (AD). Recent imaging-pathological studies have shown that LATE associates with a specific temporo-limbic FDG-PET signature that differs from the typical temporo-parietal pattern of hypometabolism in AD and may be of clinical utility for differential dementia diagnosis. Little is known about the temporal evolution of the respective hypometabolic patterns from early disease stages.

Introduction: Postoperative cognitive decline (POCD) is a common, but often unrecognized condition after surgery. We evaluate postsurgical cognitive changes in a longitudinal population-based study.
Methods: The study cohort comprises an age-stratified population-based random sample of individuals aged 65+ years from a small-town region of the United States.

Unlabelled: Breast cancer (BC) remains a significant global health issue, necessitating innovative methodologies to improve early detection and diagnosis. Despite the existence of intelligent deep learning models, their efficacy is often limited due to the oversight of small-sized masses, leading to false positive and false negative outcomes. This research introduces a novel segmentation-guided classification model developed to increase BC detection accuracy.

Background: The incidence of cancer and the prevalence of metabolic disease and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease is increasing in young adults. However, updated global data on metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH)-associated primary liver cancer (PLC) in young adults remains scarce.
Methods: This study analyzed data from the Global Burden of Disease study between 2000 and 2021 to assess the age-standardized incidence, mortality, and disability-adjusted life years rates from MASH-associated PLC in young adults (15-49 y).
