Effective power management on the outputs of triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) is critical for their practical applications due to the large impedance and unbalanced load matching. Recently proposed voltage multiplying circuits for external-charge excitation and self-charge excitation are usually unstable and require reversal for device restarting and common switched-capacitor-converters usually cause large switching losses. In this work, we fabricated a fractal structured charge-excitation circuit for TENGs using diodes and capacitors. The fractal switched-capacitor-converter coupled with voltage regulator diodes can greatly boost the output charge and current of the TENG without reverse starting. The managed output performance of the TENG can be controlled by the electronic component parameters and external operating frequency. Through the component and condition optimization, the fractal structured charge-excitation TENG (FSC-TENG) can achieve nearly 5.8 times charge boosting and almost 16.8 times power boosting in the pulsed mode. Furthermore, the FSC-TENG successfully drove a hygrothermograph and was integrated into a yoga mat for harvesting human-body motion energy to power an electronic watch and a pedometer. The FSC-TENG with good charge accumulation properties and stability is a promising candidate for practical self-powered applications.

As the depth of coal mining in China continues to increase, the fracturing of coal rock masses has an increasingly complex impact on the surrounding rock roadways. The majority of the mine's roadways run through coal rock masses with hard roofs and soft bottoms, which typically exhibit complex dynamic behaviour. To further research the mechanical behaviour and fracture evolution of coal rock masses under hard-roof and soft-floor conditions, the study is based on the majority of working faces in a mine, which have hard roofs and soft floors.

Protein-nanoparticle interactions and the resulting corona formation play crucial roles in the behavior and functionality of nanoparticles in biological environments. In this study, we present a comprehensive analysis of protein corona formation with superfolder green fluorescent protein (sfGFP) and bovine serum albumin in silica nanoparticle dispersions using small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) and dynamic light scattering (DLS). For the first time, we subtracted the scattering of individual proteins in solution and individual nanoparticles from the protein-nanoparticle complexes.

The formation and development of cities are inseparable from a certain scale of water resources. The information contained in the morphological structures of cities and water systems is often overlooked. Exploring the spatiotemporal evolution of water system structures (WSS) and urban system structures (USS) can reveal the "urban-water" relationship from a new perspective.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the trabecular microarchitecture in the interdental region of panoramic radiographs from periodontally healthy individuals and those with stage III/IV periodontitis using fractal analysis (FA), while also assessing the relationship between clinical periodontal parameters and FA outcomes.
Study Design: Clinical and radiographic records of 20 periodontally healthy individuals and 19 individuals with stage III/IV periodontitis were included. Clinical measurements including the plaque score, bleeding on probing, probing pocket depth, and clinical attachment level were recorded.

The fractal structure of aggregates consisting of primary nanoparticles naturally arises during their synthesis. While typically considered to be a fully stochastic process, we suspect long-range interactions, in particular van der Waals forces, to induce an active pull on particles, altering the clustering process. Using an off-grid 3D model, we show that an active pull decreases the density and fractal dimension of formed clusters.
