Introduction: Routine Outcome Monitoring (ROM) has emerged as a strong candidate to improve psychotherapy processes and outcome. However, its use and implementation are greatly understudied in Latin-America. Therefore, the aim of the present pilot study conducted in Argentina was to implement a ROM and feedback system grounded on a psychometrically sound instrument to measure session by session outcome in psychotherapy.

Methods: The sample consisted of 40 patients and 13 therapists. At baseline, the patients completed the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 and the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7, and they also completed the Hopkins Symptom Checklist-11 before each of the first five sessions. To estimate patient change during the first sessions, we conducted a quantitative analysis using Hierarchical Linear Models. Furthermore, we conducted a qualitative analysis using Consensual Qualitative Research to analyze therapist perception regarding the ROM and feedback system.

Results: Results showed a significant reduction in patients' symptomatic severity during the first five sessions. Additionally, baseline depression significantly predicted the estimated severity at the end of the fifth session. Feedback was given to the therapists after the first four sessions based on these analyses. With regard to the perception of the feedback system, clinicians underlined its usefulness and user-friendly nature. They also mentioned that there was a match between the information provided and their clinical judgment. Furthermore, they provided suggestions to enhance the system that was incorporated in a new and improved version.

Discussion: Limitations and clinical implications are discussed.

Purpose: To evaluate the long-term impacts of the feedback intervention on controlling inappropriate use of antimicrobial prescriptions in primary care institutions in China, as a continuation of the previous feedback intervention trial.

Methods: After the intervention ended, we conducted a 12-month follow-up study. The prescription data were collected from the baseline until the end of the follow-up period.

Purpose Of Program: Canada's growing prevalence of people with kidney failure receiving kidney replacement therapy has necessitated the expansion of dialysis programs. Although facility-based hemodialysis is the predominant dialysis modality in Canada, it is substantially costlier than home dialysis (peritoneal or home hemodialysis). Initiatives to increase the uptake of home dialysis typically consist of didactic and experiential education.

Pilot Study of a Modified DOPS Scale for Insulin Pump and CGM Installation Training in Chinese Medical Students During Endocrinology Rotations.

Diabetes Metab Syndr Obes

January 2025

Department of Endocrinology, Shanghai Pudong Hospital, Fudan University, Shanghai, 201399, People's Republic of China.

Background: Direct Observation of Procedural Skills (DOPS) is a clinical assessment tool that enables trainers to observe medical students' procedural abilities in real-time clinical settings. It assesses students' knowledge application, decision-making, and skill proficiency during clinical tasks.

Methods: This study modifies the DOPS to evaluate the operation of insulin pumps (PUMP) and continuous glucose monitoring systems (CGMS) in diabetes management.

Background: Insulin resistance and the G allele of rs738409 interact to create a greater risk of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.

Objective: This study aims to confirm that one promising way to reduce insulin resistance is by following a very low-carbohydrate (VLC) dietary pattern.

Methods: Adults with rs738409-GG or -CG with liver steatosis and elevated liver function tests, were taught an ad libitum VLC diet, positive affect and mindful eating skills, goal setting, and self-monitoring and given feedback and coaching for 4 months.

Targeting the ERK1/2 and p38 MAPK pathways attenuates Golgi tethering factor golgin-97 depletion-induced cancer progression in breast cancer.

Cell Commun Signal

January 2025

Department of Cell and Molecular Biology, College of Medicine, Chang Gung University, 259 Wen-Hwa 1 road, Guishan District, Taoyuan, Taiwan.

Background: The Golgi apparatus is widely considered a secretory center and a hub for different signaling pathways. Abnormalities in Golgi dynamics can perturb the tumor microenvironment and influence cell migration. Therefore, unraveling the regulatory network of the Golgi and searching for pharmacological targets would facilitate the development of novel anticancer therapies.
