Objectives: Nowadays, there is a significant increase in the elderly population in many countries around the world, and sarcopenia is one of the most common consequences of this with resistance training being one of the best treatments. Hence, this systematic review was conducted to determine what are the effects of different combinations of resistance training-based interventions on the musculoskeletal health of older male adults with sarcopenia.
Methods: This systematic review was performed following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. The search was performed between February and August 2022 in three electronic databases: Pubmed (MEDLINE), Web of Science (WOS) and Scopus employing different keywords combined with Boolean operators. Only 13 articles were included out of the initial 1,019.
Results: The articles studied the effects of resistance training combined with other interventions, 6 articles combined it with protein and vitamin supplementation, 4 with protein supplements only, while 3 combined it with aerobic training, finding beneficial results mainly on strength, functionality, and body composition.
Conclusion: Resistance Training combined with Aerobic Training or nutritional supplements has better effects than Resistance Training alone in older male adults with sarcopenia.

This study explores the integration of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) education in Sri Lanka, utilizing the Health Belief Model (HBM) to predict the perceived quality of SRH education among non-state undergraduate students. In many Asian countries, including Sri Lanka, cultural resistance and skepticism often challenge SRH education initiatives. The research is based on a questionnaire survey, examining factors influencing the perceived quality of SRH education, such as cultural norms, embarrassment, attitudes, awareness, and institutional support.

Short-term unloading experienced following injury or hospitalisation induces muscle atrophy and weakness. The effects of exercise following unloading have been scarcely investigated. We investigated the functional and molecular adaptations to a resistance training (RT) programme following short-term unloading.

Exercise for children with cystic fibrosis leads to well-known health benefits. However, maintaining regular activity is challenging due to the daily demands of academics, clinical care, and family tasks. Home-based exercise programs offer a more adaptable alternative, fitting into family schedules.

Background: Right ventricular (RV) failure after heart transplantation (HT) is common in those with pretransplantation elevated pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR). Mechanical circulatory support has been used as a bridge to recovery, with mixed outcomes. We describe a patient with failed single-ventricle palliation in whom severe RV failure developed after HT.

Objective: Children with congenital adrenal hyperplasia are considered to be at an elevated risk for cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. The objective of this study was to evaluate the association between periaortic fat thickness and the cardiometabolic profile in children diagnosed with congenital adrenal hyperplasia.
Method: A total of 20 children and adolescents with congenital adrenal hyperplasia and 20 healthy control subjects were enrolled in the study.
